Make IE Viewer share button configurable
The share button in the IE Viewer currently always shows the browser URL. Often the IE has an OID or some persistent URL that is preferred over the transient viewer URL. Rosetta should allow the URL that is displayed to be configurable. Preferably with an XSLT per institution similar to the IE metadata XSLT.
It is also desirable to allow for more than 1 URL in the share window. That would allow to add URLs for standalone vs embedded viewers, thumbnail view, CMS metadata view, etc.

Hi Daniel,
We are currently not yet on version 6.1, so I cannot test it yet. But from what I understand from your explanation, will it be possible to combine both? I mean to generate a descriptive MD field on the fly using the XSL and use that for the share URL?
If not, on what granularity can the Share URL link be hidden? Global, Institution, Delivery Rule, ... ?

Hi,
As previously discussed, v6.1 includes the option to define any descriptive MD field to populate the share URL, or disable the link altogether. In case of a URL which needs to be generated on the fly, you can use the existing ie.xsl to add the link/s to the MD pane.
Please let me know if you would like to keep this idea open, or whether the updated functionality is sufficient.
Thank you!
