  1. Citation generator is inaccurate

The citation in the existing and new UI for books is not valid MLA or APA.

The PNX information that populates the citations is stored in a hidden mapping table that cannot be edited. For example, I can see that series information for a book comes from addata/seriestitle. Primo will use the entirety of the field in the citation. For this particular record, this is the content of that section:

    Rowling, J. K. Harry Potter Ser. ; 2.

Likewise, book titles come from addata/btitle. For this record, this is the entirety of the section:

Harry Potter and the Chamber of…

  2. Track the date of when a record is deleted

If primo is given a record to be deleted, it is removed from the source record table. This means that there is no indication that Primo ever had the record. Continuing to track the record id would allow the search PNX tool to tell the user when the record was deleted. This would be useful in tracking down problems of missing records that are expected to be in Primo.

  3. Context sensitive help

have a default context sensitive help file(s) in the new UI that can be adapted locally, with local edits being highlighted for change, but not over written when Primo is upgraded and the help text amended centrally.

  4. Add "(full text resources only)" and "(full text and non-full text resources)" suffixes to list of results in Primo Central

We think it would be helpful if the wording directly above the list of Primo Central search results could be changed. For example, for a search for "fish" it would be great if it could say something like:

    Results 1 - 10 of 897,789 for Primo Central (full-text resources only)

when the checkbox is unticked and:

    Results 1 - 10 of 1,194,353 for Primo Central (full-text and non full-text resources)

    when it is ticked.

This would prove a useful insurance in particular for users of mobiles/devices. Indeed, embracing of Responsive Web Design at an increasing number of institutions is likely…

  5. Create Primo UI design competition.

    Hi All,

most of the ***** sites look quite dull, mostly OOTB look with few enhancements. How about running a competition "The best Primo UI design"?

  6. Add link "Back to results list" on the e-Shelf

This is the use-case I want to improve:
A user is constructing complex queries and collecting some records.
From time to time she wants to check the e-Shelf and then continue skimming trough the results list.

¡There is no simple navigation path from the e-Shelf back to the results list!

    There are 2 less-than-ideal solutions:

1/ repeating the query from tab "This session's queries" (flaws: it is cumbersome to find the corresponding query and too much clicks are necessary)
2/ the back button of the browser (flaws: the yellow e-Shelf star icons are not up to date and too much…

  7. Primo - "related titles sorted alphabetically by title" also for Primo direct / classic not VE

In Primo VE one can have related titles sorted alphabetically by title
This is particularly useful for multipart, journals, and in general complex record structure. Unfortunately, this is possible only in Primo VE, but not in classic Primo.
It would be useful if the 2 versions of Primo were aligned also regarding this very useful feature.

  8. Ability to collapse elements in full title display per view and per search scope slot

Please add the ability to collapse elements in full title display
    - per view
    - per search scope slot

We are in a consortium, and some information in the full title display is confusing for our patrons and we have no way to hide it.

We would like a setting to collapse each element of the full title display separately. This setting needs to be configurable per view and within the view per search scope slot.

    Example:

We have the search scope slots
    - our IZ
    - NZ & CDI

Section 'Other loan and request options' should be collapsed in…

  9. Allow the view code field to be editable

To enable seamless updates to the Primo interface it would be useful for the Code for the view to be editable.

This would allow you to continue to use the same public address for your Primo instance, but switch the view to a new one by changing the code in the Back Office. For example, it would allow you to switch from a the current live view to a new one.

Currently the field cannot be edited (see screenshot).
