Support Full MARC21 Holdings Data Editing in Metadata Editor
Alma allows direct editing of MARC bibliographic records and partial editing of MARC holdings records (specifically fields 852 and 866). However, a substantial portion of critical MARC21 holdings fields (e.g., 853-855, 863-865, 867-868, 876-878) are exclusively accessible and editable through the "Physical Item Editor" GUI.
While this graphical user interface provides a straightforward and efficient method for adding and editing simple, single-part items, it becomes a significant impediment for complex serial holdings and multi-part resources. These intricate materials demand the precise, field-level control that only direct interaction with the MARC21 holdings format can provide, rendering the current GUI insufficient for…

Ability to sort subfields in holding records
Currently, there is an option to sort subfields for BIB records, but there is no option to sort subfields for HOLDING records.
As an administrator for Alma, it would be helpful to have the ability to sort subfields in holdings records. For example, I was adding a subfield 3 to 583 holding records via normalization rules and the subfield was added at the end of the holdings tag. I desired the subfield 3 to be listed first in the 583, but it was not possible to do.27 votesAlma now supports XSL normalization rules, enhancing its capabilities beyond the existing DROOLS-based rules. This new functionality enables more advanced and sophisticated data normalization processes.
A blog post has been published demonstrating how to use an XSL normalization process to address the request described in this idea. You can read it here: https://developers.exlibrisgroup.com/blog/how-to-re-sequence-all-marc-fields-using-xsl-normalization/

Bring back alt+keystrokes
In MDE pushing the alt key now moves between menu items. However, this means it is no longer possible to use alt + keystrokes to enter characters such as © etc, something that was infinitely more useful.
5 votesShortcut customization UI preference for Alt+Number (under the user icon in the persistent menu > UI preferences > Shortcuts customization > Alt + number) is applied to MDE menu shortcuts same as other menus in Alma.

008 MARC field in authority records
MARC 008 in authority records is not expandable and makes it nearly impossible to identify the appropriate codes with the information they carry. It would very helpful to have the functionality of opening/expanding the 008 string in all authority records (subjects, names, genre, demographic terms)

MARC field 382 should be searchable
The MARC field 382 (Medium of performance) should be searchable in Alma and Primo. The problem is acute for Finnish music libraries in Alma, because the field contains information about the instruments and/or voices in composition, but the field is not indexed in Alma. We had last autumn in Finland a large-scale subject headings conversion that greatly increased the amount of 382 fields. Then we were still in Voyager where the field is searchable. We hope that it would be so also in Alma.
52 votesDear all,
Subfields a,b,d,e,n,p,r,s,t,v of field 382 are part of the "Medium of Performance" search index, which can be enabled in the Search Indexes table, as explained here:

Add ORCID ID to CZ Authorities vocabularies search
Field 0247 $$a XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX $$2 orcid used in authority records and is currently not searchable in CZ authority vocabularies.
Using a unique identifier when searching for name authority records will improve the precision of authority search results. It would also save the time and effort currently invested in establishing the correlation between a name and its authority record.153 votesDear all,
The option to search by the authority field 024 $a and $z was added, and you can search it using the Other Standard identifier index.

offer Unimarc to Marc21 conversion or Marc 21 to Unimarc conversion
this would improve the effectiveness of data sharing and we feel it is very necessary to have this function in Alma. this can base on the function: rules.
mapping document can bu found in https://www.loc.gov/marc/unimarctomarc21.html4 votesAlma supports crosswalk between various formats including MARC21 and UNIMARC
please see the following documentation regarding the use of crosswalks as part of the import process -
Allow cataloguers to choose which names are linked to authority files
Allow cataloguers to choose which names are linked to authority files
This is important because the all on or off automatic linking creates links for unqualified names and catalogers want the option to verify and thus link names in the way it is done in connexion.
This when the authority data is updated - every record attached to it is improved and unqualified or non-established names do not get affected.

Keyboard shortcut to suppress a record in MD Editor
Much like the keyboard shortcuts for saving and/or releasing a record, a shortcut to suppress (if unsuppressed) a record would be very helpful. A different shortcut to unsuppress would be useful too.
2 votesIn the new MDE, the keyboard shortcut Alt+Shif+S can be used to suppress / unsuppress a record.
