In Alma analytics, "Physical Items" subject area, add "Process Type Status" field
We would like to easily report on how many and which items are currently under each process type status (sometimes also called "work order status"). Currently, this field is only available in analytics in the "Physical Items Historical Events" subject area, and it is difficult to extract the current status of an item. Dear Colleagues,
As I previously wrote, you can use the Item Work Order Department Status Change folder in the Physical Items Historical Events subject area to report on "how many and which items are currently under each process type status". For current status, you can either filter by "Work Order Next Status" is empty or by "Event End Date is Empty".
As we have not heard from you since, we understand that this covers your request.

Permitting Access to Analytics Objects via Alma User Name
Accessing Analytics objects is only controlled via roles, and that makes it almost impossible to set permission for a certain report to a single colleague or even a limited number of colleagues. Thus access is granted either for a large number of persons, or just somebody with a high level of permissions (administrators).
Our workaround is mostly using scheduled reports, which can be distributed via email address or Alma user name, but a similar approach should be there for non-scheduled Analytics objects from the Analytics menu.
I suggest allowing to set permissions also via the Alma user name of a…

Enable Data Flows in Oracle Data Visualization
As someone who creates data sets and data visualizations from Analytics for other library staff, it would be useful to have Data Flow enabled in Oracle's Data Analytics. This would save me time by creating a pre-determined set of steps to create and edit data sets, and to create joins between subject areas within the Data Visualization tool.
18 votesHello,
It is possible to create Data Flows in Analytics.
In the Data Visualization home page, clicking on the "Create" button in the top right, has an option to create a Data Flow.

Analytics - increase maximum Excel export file size
Excel export from an analysis currently maxes out at 65002 rows, maybe because it's exporting in an early Excel format. Can this be changed to allow the current maximum of 1,048,576 rows?
(I know that .csv export allows more rows.)
6 votesHello,
When exporting to Data files, it is possible to export up to 10,000,000 rows (for example csv, or excel but without any formatting).
When exporting to Formatted files, it is possible to export up to 2,000,000 cells (for example excel with formatting). For example - 490,000 rows with 4 columns.

RS borrowing request cancellation reason to be available in Analytics
When cancelling a Borrowing Request in Alma using the Change Status option in the Borrowing Request screen, there is the option to specify a Cancellation Reason. We would like the Cancellation Reason selected in the drop-down menu of the Request Cancellation box to be available in Analytics.
This would enable us to analyse reasons for the cancellation of borrowing requests by library staff and potentially identify opportunities for requester education. For example, if ‘copyright issue’ or ‘item already available’ are most frequently selected as the reason for borrowing request cancellation.
8 votesHello,
This field ‘Cancellation Reason’ is in the "Borrowing Request Details" folder.

Add 'accessed IP' data on the FERPA Report
According to guidelines in Korea, we have to check accessing user id's IP address when the user access the Alma and view some users' information. However, there is no IP address field on the subject area 'Event' of Alma analytics (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/080Analytics/Alma_Analytics_Subject_Areas/Events). Please add the IP address field ASAP.

Create an out-of-the-box 'E and E' consortia overlap report
It would be very much appreciated if Alma creates an out-of-the-box report that outputs E and E title overlap in a consortium.

Make Alma recognize "Primary Identifier" when creating a set of users
Every time anyone creates an Analytics report on users, if they want it to be usable in Alma via "Create Set," they have to rename the first column of the Analytics report to "Username," which is not a field in the Users subject area in Analytics.
Make the Alma UI accept "Primary Identifier" as a recognized unique identifier so that we can use it to pull User sets from Analytics into Alma.

Add Disencumbrances to the Funds Expenditure SA of Analytics
Sometimes, you need to figure out instances where the release remaining encumbrance box was not checked off when paying an invoice. It would be a lot easier to identify these if there were a way to easily compare encumbrances and disencumbrances side by side. You can see expenditure and encumbrance transaction amounts, adding in disencumbrances would be useful.
1 voteHi this is being changed to “already supported”.
The idea states: “You can see expenditure and encumbrance transaction amounts, adding in disencumbrances would be useful.”
We respond: It is possible to see disencumbrances by using fieed “Transaction Item Sub Type” in the “Fund Transaction Details folder” of the “Funds Expenditure” subject area and filter by “disencumbrance”. Then display the “Transaction Amount” from the “Fund Transactions” folder. See two attached pictures. -
Number of Loans: Ability to Sort By & Export to Excel
It would be so helpful to have access to Number of Loans in Data we can export to Excel. In addition, being able to sort by the highest to lowest or vice versa Number of Loans data in a search would also be very helpful as a collections librarian. We need more data to support or decide upon what we purchase. Alma has all the data but limited access to it from the permission level I have as a librarian.
Thanks,

Add PO Line Status to Analytics
Currently you can search for PO Line Status within Alma, but cannot use this field within Analytics.
Adding this field to Analytics would allow reporting on statuses like In Review and Pending Approval. This would improve staff workflows, so that they don't have to manually check these statuses daily.

Index authorities used in bibs in Analytics
Index authorities in a given bib, or better yet, unauthorized headings in bibs in Analytics so I can obtain a list of unauthorized headings and partially authorized headings for correction in Alma.
1 votePlease note regarding the request here to obtain a list of unauthorized headings:
You can get this via the authority control task list (under resources > cataloging). The authority control task list is interactive allowing you to click the heading and go right to the bibliographic record.
Filter by type “linking – bib heading found no matching AUT headings”. -
Date of location change in Analytics
Analytics should allow users to run reports on the date of an Item's location change -- e.g. how many items were moved from Library A to Library B during a certain time period. This information is visible in the Item history tab; it should be made available for management reports especially now as libraries are engaged in consolidation, off-site storage, and shared print projects.

Add Vendor contact details to Analytics
We would like to be able to report on the Vendor contact fields of address, phone and email in Analytics.

Report on empty viewit screens and better link resolver usage reports
I would like to be able to report on empty viewit screens.
Currently the link resolver usage area is not so useful, missing the openurl itself, and limiting the data that is being reported to very few request metadata elements.
Im missing, in addition to the openurl, the date/vol/issue details as well as request article title and book titles.
My goal is to be able to use these reports in order to analyze problem points - currently I'm missing crucial data that will help me analyze problems.

Hi all,
As stated in the comments for this idea, the Link Resolver Usage Subject Area in Analytics has been extended and now includes the OpenURL as well as specific context details like the article title. Requests without services are also recorded.
If you still require any additions to the subject area that were not added yet, please open a new Idea Exchange with specifics.

Suggestion for Increase of Shared Dimensions Between Subject Areas in Analytics
We have donors who require reports on how we are spending their endowment funding. These reports include Fund Transaction data, Bibliographic Details, and Holding Details. The idea is that the donor should be able to locate any item within our library that we have purchased on their funds. Unfortunately, Holding Details lies within the Physical Items subject area, and currently is not a shared dimension in the Funds Expenditure subject area. Holding Details (such as in the case of Call Numbers) are closely linked in usefulness with Bibliographic Details.
My suggestion, therefore, is that ExLibris please add Holdings Details as…
28 votesThe suggestion here is to add information from the physical items to the funds expenditures subject area. It was opened three years ago. Three years (perhaps after this was opened – Ideas Exchange states “three years ago” but not an exact date) ago we added the fund information to the physical items subject area. This should satisfy the need of creating a report with data from both areas. Add Holdings Record note elements to Alma Analyics
Holdings note fields would be excellent for Alma Analytics Currently we can not report on 866 $x/$z or 852 $x/$z, but would very much like to. We end up exporting MARC, extracting fields into Excel, and doing cumbersome somersaults to merge those notes with circulation data for weeding reports.
81 votesThis is being closed as already supported. A lot of work has already been done on the holdings record in Alma. For example the latest comment here in the ideas exchange states
“Seconding both Katie Dunn and JMC on the need for both searching multiple instances of 852 $x and $z, as well as expanding the number of fields searchable. We currently use the more narrowly-defined fields rather than the catch-all 852 $x, but would find both expansions very helpful.”
The Alma Analytics physical items subject area includes the entire 852 field. it is in the “holding details” folder. We have also added several separate fields based on specific sub fields of the 852.
For example see this from Jan. 2018 release notes:
January 2018 Analytics
The following fields from the Physical Items > Holding Details folder are no longer marked as under construction and can be used for saved… -
Expand the options for UG student body size in new comparative analytics
In the new comparative analytics option (announced in the December 2016 release notes), could the options for the UG student body size be expanded to include higher student counts? The Open University is surely not the only institution that has more than 20,000 UG students?

Add the source field to Analytics
It would be useful to be able to report on the Source field from Resource Sharing requests in the Borrowing Request subject area of Analytics. Then we could analyse the channels that users' Resource Sharing requests are coming in from.
47 votesHello,
The source field is stored on the MMS of the borrower request, in field 590$$a.
This field is part of the ‘Bibliographic Details’ of the Borrowing Request SA in the "Local Note" field.
