    We profiled a 24 hour "embargo" using the new Reloan Limit parameter in Alma, so patrons have to wait 24 hours before checking out another laptop. However, there have been several times that a patron checked out a laptop, but experienced technical difficulties with the device and returned it to check out a replacement device.   2. Include "replacement cost" field in Brief Citation form for reserve reading lists

    Currently, when adding an item to a reserve reading list using the brief citation form, the replacement cost field is not available. This means that once the item is created, staff must locate it in the reading list, click "items", click "edit," then add the cost and save the record. The replacement cost field is very important when adding textbooks to reserves, since many of them far exceed the default replacement cost. The additional steps are detrimental to the reserves workflow.

  4. Item Policy Sorting in Drop-down Lists (including Rialto)

    When selecting values from a drop-down list of item policies, scrolling through a list to find a common one (say, "Books") is onerous. The documentation states that drop-down sort order can't be defined by up/down arrows or default values in the table in Fulfillment Configuration. In Rialto, the options aren't even presented alphabetically.

    I would like to see options to sort Item Policy drop-downs by either or all of these:
    a. most-used first
    b. most-recently-used first
    c. alphabetical
    d. configurable based on up/down arrows in Item Policy Configuration Table

  5. Automate Manage Digital Representations in reading lists

    When processing reading lists we sometimes have two citations in the same list which reference different chapters or page ranges for the same BIB record (i.e. two digital representations on the same BIB).
    We understand that if we want to only display the relevant chapter for each citation then we have to use 'Manage Digital Representations' which we turn on by changing the Customer Setting displaydigitalrepresentations to false. Otherwise both (or all) will display for each citation.

    When a fulfillment request is cancelled, it should specify who cancelled it e.g. patron via Primo (incl. name), librarian, other and not just "System".

  7. Being able to turn off hovering over letters bringing up the entire letter

    When you attempt to edit a letter, the mouse hoverover shows the entire letter. This covers where you are attempting to edit. It would be helpful if you could turn this off or change the text to "letter" rather than the full text of the letter. You can click the mouse to get rid of the hover over but as you move the mouse again the hover over comes up. On a long email this is not easy to work with.

  8. Request to drop to next item when previous is made Missing

    If an item is requested but can't be found and therefore toggled to Missing, the physical item request remains unfulfilled and cannot be fulfilled by another copy of that title. Either staff get an option to drop the request to the next available/eligible item, or that is done automatically, or both those options.

  9. Renovación de préstamo vencido

    Actualmente no es posible bloquear sólo la renovación de los préstamos vencidos y permitir la renovación de las préstamos no vencidos en el mismo tiempo. O bien se está bloqueando de todas las opciones de renovación o no.

    Por este motivo, proponemos que se incluya una configuración que permita a los usuarios renovar un préstamo que se encuentra en término aún teniendo otro préstamo vencido.

    Post migration we've noticed alot of duplication in our terms of use, but ExLibris have confirmed there's no way currently to export all the terms of use for review.

  11. Walk in user proxy function is need at institutional level

    Our ALMA is institutional level ALMA. When our law library patron went into another institution library, as walk-in user, our patron can checked out book to himself. However, he cannot checked out the book for proxied user.

    In another word, the proxy function is not there for walk-in user. Another library told us that the proxy check box is there, however the proxy drop down box is gone. Without this proxy drop down box, another library has no way to select proxied person.

    This function is needed very much!

    Notification data include the code for user statistics.
    But the description is more useful rather than code for it.
    So every letter which has user statistic notification data should include description of it.

  13. Item checked out to another patron

    When you check out an item to another patron, and you get the message that the item is already checked out to someone else, do you want to override?, make it so that when you select override, the item is removed from the user's record, and any fines waived. Now, the way it's set up, you have to stop what you're doing, and either backdate-checkin the item or check in the item and waive fines, and THEN complete the transaction with your current user.   14. Scan to remove item from Awaiting Shelving status

    The August 2019 release included an option to set a designated time in which returned items are in an "Awaiting Reshelving" status. However, items aren't always shelved in a consistent amount of time, meaning that items could show a status of "Awaiting Reshelving" when they are already on the shelf. This could be solved by being able to manually scan items out of "Awaiting Reshelving" to restore the "In Place" status just before they are shelved.

  15. Add Booking Type

    We need to have a "booking type" so that we can categorize types of bookings. For instance, we have bookings that require use of equipment (such as our streaming media server). We'd like to be able to make categories to organize bookings (so a booking can be created in Alma with the category "streaming" for instance. We'd need to be able to create our own categories and then select them from the booking request screen.

  16. Bulk reassignments of reading lists and "assigned to" features.

    We would like to be able to select by check box multiple reading lists or select all to reassign them instead of having to reassign each one manually. If a staff member leaves, everything needs to be reassigned to the replacing staff.

  17. Fulfillment Unit Code needs to be able to be longer then 10 characters

    The fulfillment unit code during implementation of Alma was allowed to be longer then 10 characters. But now when we go to add a new fulfillment unit, the code can only be 10 characters, which is not descriptive enough for a consortium that has multiple fulfillment units. We want to increase the length of the code to 25 characters instead.

  18. Relocate cursor to barcode scan field in "Scan In Items" after checkbox selection

    Circulation staff report problems when scanning in a large number of items:

    1. If a user clicks a checkbox or radio button in the scan in items interface, Alma does not direct the cursor to the barcode field.
    2. If the user then scans an item without clicking into the barcode field first, Alma delivers an error because the carriage return at the end of the scan submits the form, but no barcode was registered.
    3. If this error is not noticed by a staff member who has a lapse of attention, they could continue scanning and miss multiple items in a row…

  19. Resume auto renewals for all copies when request is filled or cancelled

    Currently Alma only resumes auto renewals for the one copy it has recalled, and the other copies of that title have to be manually renewed in order to restart the auto renewals process. It is difficult to explain to users why one copy is auto renewing again and their copy is not, because there doesn't seem to be any logical reason or advantage to this.

  20. Ability to Type Over Date For Physical Item/Booking Request

    When creating a Physical Item Request or a Booking for a future day and time for a patron, I think it would be nice if you could just type in the date and time as opposed to having to wipe the existing date and time or click around on the calendar.
