Ability to change the Requester in the Purchase Request form
Several new features were added to the Purchase Request workflow with the May and June 2018 releases.
One of these has meant a regression for our staff and negatively impacts the library services. In the past, any staff could create purchase requests in Alma, on behalf of academic staff, researchers and students. The patron name could be selected as Requester. This was particularly helpful to Circulation Desk operators and managers. Now, it is not possible anymore and the purchase request creator is automatically processed as Requester (unless the user has the new Purchase Request Operator or Manager roles). A user…
26 votesAs of December release it is possible to allow an Alma user that does not have the Purchase Request Operator or Manager role to create a purchase request and change the requester of the purchase request to another user. The user can search for other users from the purchase request pickup field and can set the user with the auto complete option. This option is disabled by default. To enable it, contact Ex Libris Support.

Enhance SUSHI harvesting job
The SUSHI harvesting job is set to either run every Saturday or not at all. Some vendors do not make their data available except for certain weeks of the month. This results in failed errors in the notification. Could this be expanded so you can set when the jobs will run, like once a month (after the 15th) when most vendors have made their usage data available.
10 votesThe SUSHI Harvesting job can now be run on a monthly schedule, in addition to the weekly scheduling option. The monthly schedule offers four predefined optional dates across the month. This will save institutions from trying to harvest usage data each week, which can result in redundant failures in case reports are not ready yet.

POL cancelled
Cancelled POL and Tag Suppressed (Title)
On order items display to the public, the ordered item displays as "checked out" and the status is "On order until ...". However, when an order is cancelled for whatever reason, the display changes to "Check holdings" and a message regarding no physical resources... appears in the public display. This is rather disconcerting for the patrons - and staff.
As a Catalog manager, I am queried about such displays and then suppress the bibliographic record from Discovery.
I would like to request that when the POL status is changed to "cancelled" a message comes…1 voteOctober Release

Add sushi job options beyond weekly
Currently the only SUSHI job configuration options under acquisition job configuration, is either to run every Saturday or not at all. I get FAILED messages from my weekly sushi job notification. I'm finding out there are some vendors that do not make their data available except for certain weeks of the month. For example, Oxford does not make their data available until around the 15th,unless it's a weekend then it's the following Monday.
So the job runs to no effect except about once a month.
Can an option be added so the customer can run the job monthly in addition…

Order bibs - get rid of 'brief bibs alert'
Brief record alerts are configured for cataloging but acquistiions order bibs are always and intentionally 'brief' and we'd like to avoid those alerts. Can brief order bibs be defined separately from catalog bibs? If Catalogers want to retain alerts but acquisitions wants to prevent them we can't use the configuration to cut out the 'required' fields. Hence, is there a way to define at system level what an order bib consists of and stop the 'brief bib' messages we have to override.
6 votesSome PO line and invoice alerts, as seen on their respective Alerts tabs, can now be disabled. The disabling of the alerts also effects the confirmation message associated with these alert

Allow Purchase Requests to be re-linked to a different bib record
After the March updates and the removal of the search in repository it has become difficult to correct mistakes after the initial creation of a purchase request. I suggest that the search in repository function be added back to allow us to relink a purchase request to the correct bib record instead of having to recreate the purchase request.

As of September release For institutions that purchase resources with a currency different than the default currency, and have agreements on specific exchange rates with their vendors, you can now define a fixed exchange rate in a new Explicit Exchange Rates code table . Any time a transaction is calculated, it will look for an exchange currency value here.

Increase the number of vendors available through the SUSHI module
There are many vendors that provide SUSHI setup information that are not certified for the Alma module (Factiva, Project MUSE, and Gale to name a few).
Work with these vendors who do offer SUSHI to get them working through Alma's SUSHI module.2 votes -
Usage statistics Missing Data page should use different symbols
Currently in the Missing Data page, Alma uses the same red symbol to indicate Data not available for that month. When we investigated, some of them had error in connection so we had to contact the vendors to fix the problems. However, some of them actually worked fine, only there were no usage data available for the requested dates.
I am requesting ExL to use a different symbol to indicate no usage, otherwise everything else is fine. So at a glance at the Missing data page, we could easily explain which months have no usage, so nothing needs to be…
117 votesAs of March release the SUSHI harvest process contains new performance enhancements. Additionally, the Missing Data tab has been renamed to the Monthly Usage Data tab. The errors on this tab are now further refined to help you troubleshoot connection issues. The yellow icon indicates that the connection to the vendor was successful, but the vendor did not send any data. While the red icon indicates that the the vendor connection attempt was unsuccessful. The green icon indicates, as previously, that the usage report file was successfully uploaded.

Approved Purchase Requests should NOT appear in My Task List
The purpose of the My Task List is to highlight and provide easy access to Tasks which are awaiting processing. Only InReview and new, unprocessed Purchase Requests should appear in the Task List.
Ex Libris Response: "After the request is approved (or rejected), it is moved automatically to the Unassigned tab (thus, populating the Tasks list) for reference purposes. Users with the Selector - Extended role can delete requests (e.g. from the Unassigned tab), this updating the counter in the Tasks list."
We maintain that this is a bug, not an enhancement request -- Ex Libris has not yet completed…
79 votesThe May 2018 Release includes the feature of having the tasks list (on the main menu bar) show only the purchase requests that require your attention—those in the In Review status. "Request" link when you have ordered a physical book
When you have ordered a physical book (one time order) it would be very helpful to get a Request link available on the Purchase order lines in Review page.
Then you could place a request more quickly. You don't have to search for the book again.
152 votesHi everyone, thank you for supporting this idea.
I'm happy to announce it has been implemented as part of the February 2026 Alma release.

Add Academic Department as a field in Acquisitions
Many academic libraries need to keep track of spending by academic department. If spending is not allocated by academic department then it is needlessly cumbersome to track this through the fund structure. Although this could be tracked through the sole reporting code Alma offers, there are many other competing needs for that valuable real estate. It would be useful to many institutions to have a discrete academic department field for use in creating reports.
Alternatively, add a "reporting code 2" to acquisitions that could be used for a variety of purposes.

Improve claiming functionality for predicted items
Alma has the ability to update the expected date in the Print Journal subscription PO line incrementally based on the receiving date of the last item received, and the subscription interval provided. However, predicted items also contain expected dates, which remain the same, or become all the same if the PO line expected date is modified manually. This causes many PO lines to end up in the claims task list that do not belong there. Since the frequency is provided in the prediction pattern, the expected dates of the expected items should be "smarter" and update incrementally according to the…
47 votesPreviously if an item’s due date arrived and the item was not received, a claim letter was sent to the vendor. As of February release, if the next expected item also does not arrive, you can send an additional letter to the vendor which includes details for both items which did not arrive

Add Reporting Codes to Invoices
Reporting Codes can be applied to POLs only. This limits their usability to, for instance, track actual expenditures vs. proposed costs, or to split out expenses on an item among multiple programs or funds (which can be done with multiple invoices). Allowing Reporting codes, or some similar code, to be applied to Invoices would add a great deal of flexibility and utility to an already good idea.
5 votesChanging this to completed.
On Nov. 12 2016 the following was put here in the Idea, stating that it is already possible to have reporting codes associated with invoice lines:Thank you for your suggestion ‘Add Reporting Codes to Invoices’ in which you state ‘Reporting Codes can be applied to POLs only’.
Please note that it already is possible to add Reporting Codes to Invoices. For each invoice line it is possible to add a reporting code.
This appears in the “Invoice line” screen below the “Quantity” field and above the “note” field.
You will see it when both adding a new invoice line and when editing an existing invoice line.
This is also present in the screenshot titled “Invoice Line Details Page – Create Invoice Manually” at https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/Alma_Online_Help_(English)/Acquisitions/030Invoicing/020Creating_Invoices
It is also described at the same page.
The invoice line reporting code is also part of the xsl which is… -
Allow overlap analysis between localized and Community Zone Collections
The most useful element of overlap analysis is to be able to compare the content of a resource you do not subscribe to, to one or more that you already do subscribe to. For example, if a library subscribes to Business Source Complete, and is considering an upgrade to Business Source Ultimate, it would be great if these two packages could be compared using Overlap Analysis, without having to localize or activate Business Source Ultimate. Ideally, comparing a single Community Zone collection that is not yet activated against a library's entire localized holdings would also be helpful.

Search PO Line by PO Line Note in Alma
Under Search for PO Line > Find:() >In:(), we would like to add the option to search Alma PO Line Notes Fields under the "In:" pull down menu .
This is so we can search our migrated data for codes we have installed on the "PO Line Item Notes", "Instructions to Vendor", "PO Note", and the "PO Instructions to Vendor " fields in Voyager records to easily verify the P2E process converted orders correctly.
165 votesThe existing "All" index was enhanced to search PO lines by their internal notes. Users can search by the full note description or perform a search by a partial description of the note content.
This enables Acquisitions staff to find specific PO lines by searching their notes. Internal notes can also be searched using the new dedicated Internal Notes search index.

Add NZ search to external search profile
Make it possible to easily (like with a single click) move from searching the repository to conducting the same search externally. Or even better make it possible to set up an external search profile that would search the Network Zone first then automatically search WorldCat by clicking on the other tab. The ability to easily search multiple locations without changing screens and repeating a search would streamline workflows and help discourage duplicate bibs in the network zone.
3 votesWhen using the Resource Management Search Resources option (previously Search External Resources), you can now include your Institution Zone and Network Zone (where applicable) in the search options. This is in addition to the Community Zone and external resources that you have configured for your system.

Add 'activation note' to purchase order screen for electronic orders
When ordering print material it is possible to add a 'receiving note' on the order screen. This note is visible on the receiving screen.
The same feature would be beneficial to the electronic ordering workflow: an 'activation note' available on the order screen which carries through to the activation screen.219 votes
