We would like to see the 79X tags added to the list of available local tags in the metadata editor. Our consortium's member libraries have been practiced in using these fields for local metadata, and we would like to not lose that data. Additionally, OCLC Bibliographic Formats & Standards have established these fields for use by its member libraries, including in OCLC's Local Bibliographic Data (LBD).

The method of searching for physical items by barcode then other details relies also on the reading list being assigned to an active course. Inactive courses do not appear on the Other Details tab. Additionally, the barcode is not one of the fields that displays on reading list citations.
We strongly support a Barcode index search for reading lists and citations.
