A new custom local data scope (Available Research – with inventory only) was introduced in the July 2025 Esploro release. This provides flexibility to add the scope in with other scopes (Alma, Digital, CDI etc.) to create a blended search profile.

This is a great addition, but we have found that the new custom local data scope only includes Esploro records which have files attached or that have a link with either institutional or null link ownership. Most of the links in our Esploro records have external link ownership and we would like them to be included in an Esploro scope that includes inventory – for us Esploro records that have external link ownership should be counted as records with inventory.

We would like to request that the “Available Research – with inventory only” have the option (a checkbox?) so customers can choose to include or not include Esploro records with links that have external ownership or that another condition is added (e.g. Available Research – with inventory only including external links) that customers could select that includes Esploro records with links that have external ownership. This gives customers the flexibility to choose which Esploro records are appropriate for their site to expose to Primo.
