References Created per Month in new Refworks
The "References Created per Month" statistics are offered by Legacy RefWorks but not by New RefWorks. These statistics are really useful to evaluate the RefWorks usage in our libraries and they are the more important for us.
We like to have these statistics in New Refworks too.
7 votesI am happy to update that number of references created per month will now be included in usage reports provided by the RefWorks team (they can be requested via your RefWorks CRM). This data will be added to the Admin area of RefWorks at a later time.

Provide administrator the ability to make and edit "Role" and "Institution" options.
Currently, administrator can not make and edit options for "Role" and "Institutions" which is selected when user create their accounts. This makes it inconvenient for administrator to manage their user and usage stats.
53 votesI am happy to update this feature was released in the May 2021 RefWorks monthly release. For more details refer to the release notes: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/RefWorks/Release_Notes/RefWorks_Release_Information/070_2021_RefWorks_Release_Information

Provide the ability for admins to remove Institutional Styles
Somehow, we have managed to get multiple occurances of the same Style set as Institutional Styles. I am told this is a known issue and that Development are aware but with no date for a resolution. It would be useful if Admins could remove Institutional Styles no matter what account they are from
41 votesHappy to update this idea was done in the January monthly release. Admins can delete any institutional style belonging to their institution. Provide admin level option not to display the combined export page
Allow admins to remove the "Which version of RefWorks would you like to export to?" page from view at the institutional account level and force export into New RefWorks.
8 votesPage updates have been completed; the page will remain active as long as legacy RefWorks is in use. Users can check the box for not being asked again and they will not see the page again.

Delete the "Search Databases" option.
Please give Administrators the power to remove this option from RefWorks. We spend a great deal of time teaching students how to use our library's federated search tool. This option of choosing individual databases while in RefWorks defeats that purpose. If users want to search a particular database, that can easily be done from our library's website.
83 votesI am happy to update that the RefWorks October release includes a new admin setting for hiding Search Databases from users at the institution. As with any Admin setting, don’t forget to press Save to have it go into effect.

Allow public sharing
Please allow public sharing of folders! Old RefWorks allowed us to create a link to a folder that we could then share with our users. This is especially important to us since this is how we share literature search results with our users - who are mostly not affiliated with universities and don't have RefWorks accounts.
39 votesHappy to update that public sharing was released in Feb. 2019.

Admin: sort users by date last active
Admin view of users - shoul dbe able to sort by any column AND download to excel/csv
5 votesI’m happy to update that with the recent June release, admins can now export a user data csv file. The data can then be sorted or filtered in excel as needed.

Better usage stats
The usage data currently available to admins isn't especially informative. We can see the total number of users and the total number of library views. But there's no way to know how many of those users created accounts, viewed their library once, and then never used RefWorks again vs. how many are using it regularly.
Also, when the usage data is downloaded, the date formatting is inconsistent. For the first 12 days of a given month, the dates are formatted M/D/YY with the month and date inverted. From the 13th onward, the dates are formatted YYYY-DD-MM.
60 votesI’m happy to update that with the recent June release, admins can now export a user data csv file. The data can then be sorted or filtered in excel as needed. It includes Date created and Date last active, which can be used to identify non-active users.
More advanced usage data can still be obtained upon request from Ex Libris via your Account Manager or Client Relationship Manager.
