Importing from Legacy RefWorks doesn't organize them by their orignal folder. I have 171 references that are just dumped into my library.
Let me import my FOLDERS from legacy refworks.

Attachments stall, never completely finish
Many users have noticed that when PDF attachments are uploaded, they take a very long time in the processing/uploading phase, and sometimes the progress bar stalls at 50% and never finishes.
110 votesI am happy to update that improvements to the pdf upload process were released in the RefWorks Dec. release. These improvements impact upload of pdfs within RefWorks; improvements to saving pdfs with Save to RefWorks will be handled separately.

Allow users to link their ProQuest MyResearch account to New RefWorks
At the moment, you can only link the two if you have an account in the old RefWorks.
3 votesI am happy to update that this has been completed. MyResearch users who have a (new) RefWorks account can link their accounts. Save to Refworks button is not functional
The save to refworks button for chrome is not functional. About 90% of the time when I try to use it and input all the information, the loading bar goes and goes (Uploading 1 of 1.......) and eventually after about a minute it says it was unable to import anything (We're sorry, we were unable to save to RefWorks. We tried, but came up empty.) So frustrating. As said before, this service is great, but quite a few basic functionalities are from from actually functioning properly. These need to be fixed. A quick import button is a huge draw of…

Have the option to input n.d. for an undated article
When trying to put n.d. into the "date" section of a reference, it just seems to think it is an incorrect input/date and will not allow for this. However, in the real world, quite a few sources from time to time are undated, and this puts a crimp in everything when you cannot put n.d. per APA format. Please add this functionality to either input our own term of n.d. or to select that the source is undated so it can be automatically entered into the reference. Thank you.
10 votesI’m happy to update that this is now supported.

Please make it possible to move large numbers of references from the last import page to a folder, all at once
I have just imported 7600 references that I want to put all into the same folder (working on a systematic review). I can only move small quantities at a time as the select all features is limited to the records displayed. Selecting "display 2000 records" causes refworks to crash.
4 votesReferences may be assigned to specific folder during import. RefWorks also allows new folder creation during import to easily assign references during import.

don't automatically add a bibliography!
I use google docs to write my papers and find it really annoying that RefWorks automatically adds a bibliography entry when I'm adding a reference. Footnotes are included in my institution's word count, but the bibliography is not, so when the bib is automatically added it disrupts my word count and makes it harder to quickly see where I'm up to. Is there any way I can turn this feature off and then just install the bibliography when I've finished the paper? thanks!
7 votesI’m happy to notify that the updated RCM version is now available in the Microsoft store; it allows users to turn the bibliography on or off at any time. Users who have previously installed RCM will automatically be updated to the new version.

Improve print/electronic differentiation in imported book references
The default setting for book imports is for electronic books and it is, in my experience, not apparent to users until an inaccurate bibliography is created.
Perhaps you could:
A) Change the default from electronic to print
B) Bring the 'this is an electronic resource' tick-box to the top of the screen when a user imports a book record.27 votesWe are happy to announce improvements were completed in January 2025 release.

Don't automatically import subject headings as tags
Subject headings from Proquest and other databases are automatically imported as "tags." This clutters up the interface, and makes it hard for users to add their own tags.
71 votesI am happy to update that this was done as part of the September release. Users can select if to include tags when importing references or not. Read more here: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/RefWorks/Release_Notes/RefWorks_Release_Information/070_2021_RefWorks_Release_Information

ISBN/ISSN, authors can be used to retrieve auto-cite metadata for manual input
More criteria are recommended for retrieving metadata for auto-cite. ISBN, ISSN and authors are common. This will empower the auto-cite capability and save a lot of time for the researchers.
9 votesI am happy to update that this was done as part of the September release. Users can find matches by ISBN and ISSN, in addition to Title and DOI. Read more here: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/RefWorks/Release_Notes/RefWorks_Release_Information/070_2021_RefWorks_Release_Information
