  1. Citation optimization

Right now, the problem for me with RefWorks is that it does far too many things automatically. At my university, we have our own rules of the citation which have to do with the rules of Dutch grammar. e.g. We write titles and subtitles as sentences, meaning that only the first letter of the first word per sentence is capitalized. The exception is of course for names, place names, historical events, etc. (each of these depending on the local spelling & grammar rules). While we want as much information as possible to be automated, it's very unhandy to automate the…

  2. Improve and fix RefWorks Projects

Make 'Untitled Project' clearer. Also please fix a bug where after creating a new Project, a message appears each time a reference is imported asking which project is should be saved to, even after the project is deleted.

  3. Ensure CSL styles (Vancouver...) works well in RCM (RefWorks Citation Manager)

Users cannot use these CSL syles in Refworks Citation Manager because they don’t work correctly.

I give you an example with Vancouver CSL from RCM:
    Mosquera (1)
    Gonzalez (2)

    Bibliography:
    1.
Gonzalez ML, Sturm ME, Lerena MC, Rojo MC, Chimeno SV, Combina M, et al. Persistence and reservoirs of Saccharomyces cerevisiae biodiversity in different vineyard niches. 2020;86:103328.
    2.
Giovanny Mosquera W, Yajaira Criado L, Elena Guerra B. Antimicrobial activity of endophytic fungi from medicinal plants Mammea americana (Calophyllaceae) and Moringa oleifera (Moringaceae). 2020;40(1).

As you see in-text-citation (1) has to be bibliographic reference (2), an in-text-citation (2) has to be…

  4. Improving offline access to PDFs: Organize PDFs in dropbox in folder

It is great you provide offline access to references via dropbox. However, it would be very helpful if those references were organized in folders that matched the folders in refworks.

  5. Import full date when importing newspaper articles from proquest historical newspapers database

When importing citations from Proquest historical newspaper database, only the year is imported. This isn't satisfactory for creating notes/bibliographies including newspapers, which typically require mm/dd/yyyy information.

  6. Write n cite plug in for Microsoft Word 2017 and later, I cannot cite with RefWorks anymore

Write n' Cite plug-in for Microsoft Word 2017 and later, please. I cannot revert the update as my university won't let me download earlier version packages and I cannot cite using RefWorks anymore.

  7. Cite web pages correctly in Write-n-cite using Chicago 17th

    Here is what Refworks provides:
Cree Trappers Association. "Eeyou Indoh-Hoh Weeshou-Wehwun/Traditional Eeyou Hunting Law." Eastmain: Cree Trappers Association., accessed December 10, 2018, http://creetrappers.ca/wp-content/uploads/2014/02
    /CTAEEYOUHUNTING_LAW.PDF.

    Here is what write-n-cite provides:
Cree Trappers Association. 2009. Eeyou Indoh-Hoh Weeshou-Wehwun/Traditional Eeyou Hunting Law.

I am providing a word document because the comment box omits formatting such as italics.

  9. Bring back access code so people w/o RefWorks account can edit

We are happy that public sharing is now available! Except that the option to send an access code so that people without a RefWorks account can edit/make modifications seems to no longer be available. This is something that we used frequently for committee members who don't work here and don't have an account, but still need to collaborate on a document. Please bring back the access code option!

  11. Provide automatic doi insertion in new Refworks

In the new Proquest Refworks the doi can only be inserted manually. In the legacy version this was uploaded automatically when importing references.

  12. What about Write-N-Cite in Word 2019?

Many new students are now working with Word 2019; does the newest version of Write-n-Cite (4.6.69) support this Word version?

  13. APA 6th website with no author

The current method that RCM uses does not look like the APA 6th method, e.g. APA 6th e.g. "The Quick Brown Fox," 2019 RCM e.g. The quick brown fox.2019.

  14. APA 6th punctuation in references

The references inserted into an APA paper using RCM should place two spaces after a period that ends each sentence.

  15. In the style Bluebook (notes & bibliography), 2 functions should be corrected

In the style Bluebook (notes & bibliography), 2 functions could be corrected please. First, when the "Ref type" newspaper article is selected, RefWorks automatically adds "available at" for the URL, which is not correct for this style according to Bluebook edition 20th. Besides, in "Publish Date," RefWorks takes out the year out of the parenthesis, leaving inside the month and day. Second, when the "Ref type" Web page is selected, RefWorks does not transport whatever is written in the field "website" to the citation view. Also, the same thing with the year and the parenthesis happens.

  17. Allow Articles uploaded in Dropbox to automatically download in Refworks

Before finding out about Refworks, I had all of my articles saved in Dropbox under Dissertation Articles. I transferred them all to the new RefWorks folder in my Dropbox but I don't see them uploading into my Refworks project. I have a Chromebook so I can't click and drag the articles in there. There were over 100 articles in there. It will take me a while to transfer them myself.

  19. How about actually uploading the right attachment? And populating the right citation information. I was up until 2am sorting out your mess!

When importing refereneces somehow, I have ended up with completely random refereneces in my list and then missing some important ones. I was up until 2am last night trying to sort out your mess but it is an impossible task when the link doesnt work/has not been populated. And all the citation information seems completely random, like I have ended up with someone elses's reference ! I will be writing a personal letter of thanks if I fail my assignment

  20. Hide/Remove a System Folder

Unidentified folders which are not created/shared in an account are displayed on WNC.
Uncreated/Unshared folders in an account are displayed on WNC. We've heard that they are system folders to sync WNC documents with RefWorks and we cannot hide or remove them at the present specification. Could you please meke it possible?
