  2. Highlighting OCR'ed pdfs

Pdfs that are imported from subscription databases are able to be highlighted and notes created. However, pdfs from other sources, like scanned pdfs, smartphone created pdfs, and pdfs from the web, are not able to be highlighted and notes added. It would be nice if pdfs from any source, imported into RefWorks, can be highlighted and notes created in the document.

  3. link resolver visible in publicly shared folders

I would like to have our LinkResolver links visible in publicly shared folders as an alternative to attachments. That way we can prevent giving illegal access to subscription based articles outside our institution.

  4. try to generate a performance: function FIND ( phrases, words, collors, field codes...)

The idea is to find all you need by using an pertinent function FIND which works with all formats.

  5. Search output styles with other criteria than name of the style

For example by subject areas, citation systems (for example footnotes, intext citations) or language

  6. Remove shared folder access codes

We've noticed that when a user shares a folder, the link that the recipient receives generates a screen that asks for an access code if they are not already logged into RefWorks.

We can see that there is a login link in the top banner but most of our users will miss this.

Is it possible to have the usual login options (e-mail address and institutional login) in the main screen?

We've also noticed that, once you do login, it takes a little while for the shared folder to appear in the menu section on the left and once it…

  7. Make more author name flexibility possible!

Currently, anything that does not follow a strict last-first name format doesn't work in Refworks. (E.g. the citation manager can't handle "Paul VI" as an author.) This seems like it would be so easy to fix by the use of quotation marks or some other indicator to keep the formatting as it is typed by the user. The entire world doesn't strictly follow Western-style naming traditions....

  8. Improve CTR Harvard

Being reluctant to create an institutional version of CTR Harvard, can the RefWorks supplied version of CTR Harvard be improved to make it more accurate? eg by making book/article titles sentence cased? or by the making the journal title, title cased? This is already done for APA.

  9. Have the update notifications give details on compatibility

I keep getting popups asking me to update on both computers but haven't done so because the last update was actually not compatible with my system. It takes quite a bit of searching to find this info and I can't find whether the new version has fixed the problem.
