start enrichment process for Hogrefe eBooks (Hogrefe eLibrary)
ExLibris created an automation for updates that will run on a weekly basis and will check for any changes made to the title list by Hogrefe Verlag. However, the metadata are rudimentary. We are missing author or editor, place of publication and publisher in the metadata. This makes it difficult to find out the ebooks in Primo VE.
Hence: could you please start an enrichment process with Hogrefe for their eLibrary eBooks titles?

Hello,
The Ex Libris cataloging team manually improved the records from Hogrefe, and performed enrichment for 1,411 records.
This cannot be automated due to insufficient quality of records, so it is considered as a one-time enrichment effort.
Kind regards,
Tamar

Dear Tamar
Many thanks for this. It is interesting to hear that Ex Libris cataloging team manually improved this records, as this must have been a huge amount of work.
It would be difficult for libraries that licensing Hogrefe resources if this was a one-time enrichment event. Further I do no understand why an automated enrichment should not be possible because of insufficient quality of records. If I have a look on the publishers records that are offered in the admin backend for the licensees I can see qualitative high records.
Kind regards,

Dear Tamar,
Thank you for your feedback. It's quite an embarassing surprise, though, and a full frustration for the licencing institutions!
Isn't it the role of ExLibris to make sure the metadata they receive from the publisher meet the ALMA standards? Who will do it otherwise?
I would appreciate a feedback on this.
Thank you for your continued support.
With kind regards
Benoît -

Hello,
The records we received from the provider are extremely brief and will only add the author , publisher name an how many pages in the print version.
See for example:

In this case, I am afraid there is not much point in using these records.
I am closing this idea, but feel free to reach out to me directly if necessary.

Dear Tamar,
is there any progress in enriching the Hogrefe records? We have information from Hogrefe that they are capable of providing KBART and also the MARC files with the metadata such as publication date, author name, publisher's details, language of the document and the ISBN.
We can also arrange a contact with Hogrefe if necessary.
