Content

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).

How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s).
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.

The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category. The ideas for new providers will be annually prioritized via the CERV process.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

If you want to add an institutional repository, please open a case and follow the documentation here:

**Please be aware that ideas with no comments or votes for the past three years, and have less than 30 votes, will be closed. The closed ideas will still be available for review, and the votes will be freed up for supporting other content ideas.

**If you are a content provider, please review the submission guides for more information on how to reach out

  1. Add Zhejiang University Journal Resource Repository to the Alma Community Zone/SFXKB and 360KB

AcadeMax is a journal publishing platform for the discovery of academic content published by Zhejiang University Press (ZJUP) and its publishing partners, currently more than 80 journals are now available. I wish Ex Libris would add AcadMax Resource Repository(https://www.academax.com) to the Alma Community Zone/SFXKB and 360KB.

    Hello,

We will reach out to ETV, and ask for the metadata for this collection.

If you could add a direct contact person, that would be very helpful.

  3. Add ISLaS+ database to Alma

ISLaS+ is a consortial ILS shared by most of Greek universities. In order to benefit from their metadata, it would be a great asset to integrate its database to the external ressources harvested by Alma. This would be especially useful for libraries with Moder Greek collections.

  8. Teachingbooks need contents update

    Hi,

We have subscribed to Teachingbooks and obtained MARC records from them to create a collection when we set it up years ago. Recently, they told us that to get updates, individual libraries have to set up API to connect to their catalogs using software such as TLC’s LS2, Apollo’s Biblionix, etc.

Alma Community Zone has offered several Teachingbooks versions as databases. It would be beneficial to all Alma libraries if Ex Libris's Content Team contacts them and sets up API with them, so the databases can become collections with updates, than individual libraries setting up API on their own.…

    Hello,

We will reach out to TeachingBooks and request metadata for their collections.

Please note that TeachingBooks currently does not share metadata with us, so establishing a new metadata feed may take longer than it would with providers that already supply regular updates.

  15. Add Ben Yehuda Project to ALMA

Project Ben‑Yehuda (https://benyehuda.org/) is a major open-access repository of Hebrew literature that preserves and provides free online access to canonical works of Hebrew literature, from medieval poetry to modern texts, created through a collaborative volunteer effort. Incorporating this collection into Alma would extend the library’s digital holdings with high-value, openly accessible content, while promoting broader use of primary sources in research and teaching.

  16. Project MUSE - CEU Press Opening the Future

Project MUSE is hosting the paywalled CEU Press titles under the "CEU Press Opening the Future" program that are made available to supporting libraries. We need a collection for these titles. See here: https://my.lyrasis.org/s/product-details?id=a1BUh000001GT7kMAG and here: https://ceup.openingthefuture.net/

Ideally this collection would only include the paywalled titles, as the OA titles will be in various OA collections.

    Hello,

We will reach out to Project MUSE to request the metadata for this collection.

At this stage, we are not certain that excluding the open access titles would be the best approach, as it may be more beneficial for the community to have all CEU Press content available within a single collection rather than activating these titles across multiple collections. We will review this internally to ensure alignment with the structure of other Knowledgebase collections.

    Thank you,

    Tamar Ganor

  17. Digital Theatre+: add GBR collection

It would be helpful for us to have a Community Zone collection for the Digital Theatre+ Great Britain (GBR) collection.

MARC records are available from: https://marc.digitaltheatreplus.com/
At the time of writing, the most recent complete MARC file for the collection we hold is: 2026-05/digital-theatre-plus-marc-master-all-gbr-2026-05-01.mrc

The Community Zone already has collections for two other regional collections from the same provider: "Digital Theatre+ Australia" (611057451930000041) and "Digital Theatre Plus Database US" (6113939040000041).

  18. New Ebsco Magazine Archive Collections

Hello, can you please add new collections for these two titles that are part of Ebsco's Magazine Archives?

    1. The New Yorker
    2. Food & Wine

There are a number of existing titles in the archive that have separate collections - for example, the Jet Magazine Archive (Collection ID: 615490000000001759).

  19. Indian Political Intelligence Files, 1912–1950

Please create a database collection in the KBs for the following DeGruyter/Brill resource:
    Indian Political Intelligence Files, 1912–1950
    https://www.degruyterbrill.com/database/ipi/html

Would it also be possible to add granular metadata for this to the CDI?

There's current a portfolio for this in the "De Gruyter Databases" CZ collection with "journal" electronic material which doesn't make sense.

    Thanks.

    Hello Charlie,

The policy for De Gruyter/Brill databases is to add them in the De Gruyter Databases collection (Collection ID 614730000000000018).

This allows management under an umbrella collection for all their databases with a KBART file.

I will check if we can add them as CDI, and consider changing the material type.

    Kind regards,

    Tamar Ganor
