← Have an idea for Ex Libris?

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).


How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s). 
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.


The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

How can we improve Content?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

    In SFX, there were targets for OVIDLIPPINCOTTWILLIAMSANDWILKINSNURSINGHEALTHPROFESSIONSPREMIER.
    The library is subscribing 2018 collection currently. As we cannot found 2018 collection, we activated 2017 collection instead. This may explain why some titles or the Year of coverage is not correct to us.
    We found SFX KB have seperated target for each year since 2014, would ExLibris consider to create target for 2018 collection? Attached title list for 2018 collection for your reference.

  10. Summon Content: Include BASE (Bielefeld Academic Search Engine) data for Open Access documents

    BASE (https://www.base-search.net/) is one of the most comprehensive search engines for scientific documents and especially contains valuable information on open access documents (flagged as such). If Summon would include this part of the BASE data many if not most of the open access repositories wouldn't have to be addressed individually. As a competing index contains the BASE data it shouldn't be impossible to get them for Summon.

  12. Current Content for "Nazariyat İslâm Felsefe ve Bilim Tarihi Araştırmaları Dergisi" in Summon

    Hi,

    Most content for the title "Nazariyat İslâm Felsefe ve Bilim Tarihi Araştırmaları Dergisi" (ISSN 2148-8088) is available in Summon. However, citations for articles from 2017 - Present are not available. Ex Libris Support told me that this occurs because currently no other source provides records for this particular title from 2017 forward. Please add this content to Summon.

    Would you be able to add contents of the free music score libraries, Petrucci and the Choral Public Domain Library to be indexed in Summon? Our students search for scores in Summon but do not find the contents of these two free databases.
