← Have an idea for Ex Libris?

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).


How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s). 
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.


The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

How can we improve Content?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  3. Post additional standard organizations on ASTM platform

    ASTM has several standard organizations that we (as customers) can subscribe to. Each of these should have their own community zone collection with CDI.
    International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), UNE-EN ISO

    There may need to be more than one ISO collection as I'm not sure if all standards are available everywhere regardless of subscription location.

    eBooks (study books, textbooks, monographs, research papers, and conference proceedings) are written in Lithuanian and English. Some of them are open access. There are currently over 1000 ebooks in total. iPublishCentral platform is used.

  9. Create new/separate automatic holdings collections for Taylor & Francis

    I'd love to make use of the new Taylor & Francis automatic holdings feature, but the collections it points to are collections that we are already using. For certain providers, I prefer to use automatic holdings as a "back-up" to my own management. The "Taylor & Francis eBooks Complete" is the collection that the GOBI API uses. I'm also already using the "Taylor & Francis Current Content Access" for another reason. Springer and Wiley both have separate autoholdings collections. Could separate collections also be created for Taylor & Francis? Thanks!

  10. Can you please create a separate platform for ‘ScienceOpen’ to track title by title content available via ScienceOpen?

    Hello,
    Can you please create a separate platform dedicated for 'ScienceOpen' if convenient as Taylor and Francis have announced that they will not be publishing 'Review of African Political Economy' after completion of Volume 49, Issue 178, 2023 and the journal will be published through Science Open in 2024 instead? Looks like the main URL is https://www.scienceopen.com/

  19. Add Emerald ejournal Subject Collections for HE 2024-2026

    Hello

    I can see a couple of Emerald subject collections in the CZ for 2024-2026 for Accounting, Finance and Economics (Collection ID: 61107894270004781), and Business, Management and Strategy (Collection ID: 61107894240004781). However I can't see anything for the following Emerald collections:

    Health & Social Care
    Learning & Organisation Studies
    Marketing
    Operations, Logistics & Quality

    Can these subject collections be added for the 2024-2026 JISC agreement?
