We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).


How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s).
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.


The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category. The ideas for new providers will be annually prioritized via the CERV process.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

  4. Add Kortext as an e-book provider

    Please could content from Kortext (https://www.kortext.com/) be added to the KB?

    They are an e-book provider - we currently have a collection of books from them that are only in Summon via a LSH and would love the user experience / discoverability for these books to be the same as that for other e-book providers.

  5. Add "Intertek Inform" content (formerly SAI Global Standards Australia)

    Our patrons search regularly for specific Australian standards in our Primo environment, and experience Zero Results.

    We have a Database record, but this is not a good discovery experience when the patron may not know the name of the platform.

    This is particularly an issue with the rebranding in January 2024 from SAI Global Standards Australia to Intertek Inform.

    Some examples from our analytics data:

    AS1158 wiring rules

    Please add this content to Ex Libris content systems to support ease of discovery.

  6. Add Provider: Art Council

    Hello,

    We would like to add the open access title "The Cultural and Economic Trends of Cinema in Ireland and Wales" to the 360KB but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be listed anywhere.

  7. Add Provider: National Film Preservation Foundation

    Hello,

    We would like to add the open access title "Film Preservation Guide: The Basics for Archives, Libraries, and Museums" to the 360KB but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be listed anywhere.

  8. Add Publisher Press Books to 360 KB

    We are hoping to add the open access ebook "Unlocking the Digital Age: The Musician's Guide to Research, Copyright, and Publishing" in the 360KB but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be listed anywhere.

  9. New Provider/Collection: SSRN (Social Science Research Network)

    Recommend addition to CDI.

    Please consider this as a new resource from a "new" provider, as SSRN has a long history prior to its acquisition by Elsevier a handful of years ago. It would be great to improve discoverability of the 1.2 million items in this repository, while enhancing the presence of OA and preprint content to Primo and Summon users.

  15. Please add content to RIBApix

    We have activated RIBApix (P43) in Intota but we don't get any records in Summon.
    Is it possible to get a content agreement with RIBApix?
    Why is there a database with no content agreement in the first place?

    Please add the database "MINABS Online". provides a unique research tool for researchers working in the fields of mineralogy, crystallography, geochemistry, petrology, environmental mineralogy, and related topics. The database – which contains more than 120,000 abstracts of papers published between 1982 and 2008 – originated from the paper journal Mineralogical Abstracts, a publication of the Mineralogical Society of Great Britain & Ireland. No new abstracts were added to the database after 2008.

    MINABS Online was first published on the Internet in 2003 and is provided free of charge as a service of the Mineralogical Society.
