Display edition and publication year in brief results, for books and ebooks
I have been told by Ex Libris support that Summon only exposes the edition in the short summary for records that have a content type of 'Book'. This makes it difficult for patrons to determine which edition is the most recent, where both books and ebooks are available. See attached image for an example of how both can be displayed, to reduce confusion.
Edition, volume and publication year are now displayed in the brief result.

A brilliant way to engage in academic or cultural learning in Mexico is through the Mexico Study (Short-term) Visa. This visa is crafted for international students intending to participate in programs lasting under 180 days. It's a convenient option for scholars looking to expand their knowledge without long-term relocation. Whether it’s language immersion or attending specific skill courses, this visa helps you dive into the experience fully. With the right documents and planning, it’s easy to gain access to some of Mexico’s most vibrant educational spaces. It’s a fantastic route for learners seeking something new and meaningful abroad.

To me and my colleagues this seems like a vital enhancement. It seems illogical that e-books should prove less discoverable in a modern search environment. Particularly when the metadata displayed by a print book is reduced by virtue of it merging with an e-book. Many of our popular resources are textbooks with not particularly unique titles, where new editions are published regularly. The lack of displaying metadata for e-books is leaving our users unable to find the resources they know they need.
