The publication date filter is currently designed to allow filtering within the last 100 years. This is insufficient when trying to limit results to find primary source documents, e.g., related to the U.S. Civil War, 1861-1865.

This issue was addressed with the facet improvements in December 2021.

The 1919 date filter setting is inadequate and misleading, and should be able to dynamically understand the earliest available date in the holdings represented in the catalog. Newspapers.com can do this, so should Alma!

Agreed - the date slider should be dynamic, growing and shrinking based on the oldest and newest item in the result set.
