Collection Discovery for Summon over Alma
Alma has a feature that allows libraries to manage collections of titles by grouping them in categories for easy browsing. Primo sites can expose these curated collections with Primo's built-in Collection Discovery UI. The University of California at Irvine is using it to showcase award winning books in their collection, as seen in this example:
https://uci.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/collectionDiscovery?vid=01CDL_IRV_INST:UCI
We think this is a useful feature and would like the same functionality to be available to Summon over Alma sites.

Don't force title case in Summon UI for Search Scope Names
Allow the Summon UI to display Search Scope Names as they have been entered by the library instead of forcing them to display in title case.
For example, if the Scope Name is Books and Journals, display "Books and Journals" in the UI, and if it's Circulating Collection (items you can check out), display "Circulating Collection (items you can check out)" in the UI.
Right now, these Scope Names are forced to be displayed as "Books And Journals" and "Circulating Collection (Items You Can Check Out)" for the end user.

publication date filter- no visual indication it has been selected
When a user selects the pre-defined publication date facets (Last 12 Months, 3 years, 5 years) there is no Green Tick used to indicate that it has been selected. The date slider is changed to indicate the dates used, and the dates are filled in, but these are less obvious when selecting other facets.
This can be overlooked by end users when they then conduct another search.
I know that they probably should restart by clearing the Facets/filters but it seems like there is a lack of consistency when compared to how other facets are displayed after selection.16 votesThis was included as part of the facet improvements for the User Interface in the December 2021 Summon Quarterly Release.

Include MARC 505 and 511 fields in the Details Page
For music recordings and films, it is particularly important to include the 505 and 511 fields to identify the unique aspects of an item. These fields are currently indexed in Summon, but not displayed, and Syndetics is not complete enough to replace them. Additionally, it can be confusing to users to have items in the search results for key terms found in the 505 and 511, but not displayed in the record.

autoholdings for Springer ebooks
Hi!
we would like to get auto holdings from Springer when we buy their single ebooks.
Right now it works from eBook central and T&F and we would like the same service from Springer ebook shop as well.

Persistent display of all information on "Preview"
If users close "preview" on search results once and then reopen it, some information like Altmetric, Call number, Summary from Syndetic and so on are missing.
Users often reopen "preview" to confirm the detail of information there again. I hope the improvement which reflects this user action to be done.
15 votesThe new Quick Look preview pane released in August 2022 should have addressed this issue.

DB recommender - tags export feature
We would like to be able to export the list of databases and the tags used for the recommender.
Furthermore, it would be nice if we can import the completed list.15 votesThis has been completed as part of the Summon 2021 Roadmap.

Add "sent from" box in "email this item."
Currently, if you want to email an item to another person, there is no space to indicate who the sender is.

Clearing search will not let the user enter a new search directly
When the user clicks the x that clears the search-field in order to make a new search, the cursor is not placed in the search field. The user has to click in the search field in order to write something. The way this works it is quicker to just select the text in the search field and erase it by hitting the Back space.

Provide cloud storage with a login for saved items
It is confusing for the saved items to disappear. It would be great if users could log in to Summon to save their items.

Allow more than 2 custom panels to be expanded by default
At present, no more than 2 custom panels in the right-hand section of the Summon results page can be expanded by default. Others are only accessible by a More... link. Give libraries the option of setting how many custom panels are open by default.

Ability to match language settings of Summon with 360Link
The interface language of Summon and 360Link has no connection.
So, when linking from Summon to 360 Link, abroad students have to change both language settings of Summon and 360Link.
This is inconvenient for abroad students.12 votesCompleted as part of the 2023 roadmap, courtesy of ELUNA and IGeLU NERS voting.

Configuring a ‘Collection Discovery’ search in Summon
Unlike Primo customers, Summon users cannot navigate to the Collections Lobby to find items available as part of Alma Collections unless they click into the details page of a record and scroll down to the bottom where they are presented with the ‘see more from *** collection’. A simple search in Summon is searching within everything we have in Alma (and published to Summon) - so individual titles are appearing in the results. But the collection names are not searchable. Summon is not able to provide a similar "Collection Discovery" search to Primo. Summon' s design is not based on…

Database order in 360 Link and EJP: Make it possible to upload changes in a file
In the 360 Link Admin Console it’s possible to change the order in which databases er shown in the Sidebar Helper frame, the 360 Link results page, and the E-Journal Portal results page. As it is you can change the order by moving one database at a time on the list (either by dragging the database to a new position on the list or by changing the number the database has on the list. We would like it to be possible to download the list of databases in a file, make the changes in a spreadsheet and upload it. At…

Add visibilty of local notes to item detail view
Many libraries add additional notes to MARC records to enhance the findability of items and relevance of search results (e.g., a ToC or chapter listing when not already part of the record). Make these visable to the user.
12 votesThis functionality has been added. To turn on public notes, go to the Admin Console under Settings > Search Results. At the bottom, there are options to “Display eResource Public Notes” and “Display eResource Location Notes”. Change the setting from Default to Custom and set the option to Yes, then scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.

Fix the date issue when searching books.
Currently, if you search for books within a time frame, e.g. last five years, you will also get books that were published outside the date range, e.g. 1980. This is a serious problem for students needing to be current, yet having to sift through older material to find newer material. This is not an issue with journal articles.
12 votesCompleted as part of the July 2017 release. We improved our match and merge process to resolve this issue.

Open Access filtering and restriction
Open-access resources should not need to be selected in a library's Intota instance to reliably indicate that they are accessible to the Summon user.
Currently, when a user checks both the OA filter and the 'include outside sources' box, some resources present in results with the ambiguous message that they are open-access, but are unavailable or only obtainable via ILL (according to what text the library displays in this circumstance.) Users can't know which to believe- is it accessible or not?
Since open-access resources brought into search results come from either a library's Intota selections or the Summon index, it…
