We are closing this idea because there have been significant changes to the entry screens and there are many new options for customizing labels and other features since this idea was originally created. Please open a new idea with current requirements if still needed.

We don’t see this request as part of the upcoming Leganto 12 months development plans.
Please pursue NERS as an alternate way.

  3. Allow tags to be added in Cite It

Would it be possible to assign tags to citations directly from the Cite It window, rather than having to locate them in Leganto and tag afterwards?

  4. Within a citation's Links & Availability, allow the ordering of links

Currently when a citation has an uploaded file and online links, the uploaded file will by default show on top of the list. If we enable embedded PDFs and other formats this end up pushing the remaining links to the very bottom of the page. We would like to be able to customize the order of links within a citation

  5. Add events (citation modifications, etc) by library staff to Leganto Instructor Usage Events subject area in Analytics

Currently the Leganto Instructor Usage Events subject area only identifies events created by list collaborators. At our institution, library staff are also responsible for making modifications to lists and citations (for example, adding tags), however these actions are not displayed as 'events' on analyses created in this subject area.

As previously discussed with Ex Libris (see SF 00523008), it would be useful for our workflows if both instructor and library staff events could display in this subject area (perhaps under separate descriptors).

  6. Autocomplete Non-CiteIt Citations based on Material Type or other configured rules

It would be very useful to be able to have configuration in Alma that would allow citations with a specific list of defined Material Types to be set to citation status: Complete and Copyright Status: Not Required or Approved automatically when they first are created on the Reading List. This would save staff working on Reading lists where there are numerous citations which need no copyright approval or should be auto Approved and need no user intervention, to be automatically marked complete if they matched a configurable list of material types exiting in Alma already.

    At the moment it takes…

  7. make tags of mandatory or optional reading as compulsory so that librarians know exactly which material to buy without having to clarify

if these tags were compulsory Liaison librarian wouldn't then have to clarify with instructors whether or not to buy material.

  8. Export to Excel - Remove "Citation" from each column

We want to suggest a slight modification of the export to Excel.

As you can see on the attached screenshot, the title for each column is preceded by Referanse/Citation.
    Ex:
Citation Volume | Citation Issue | Citation pages | Citation start page and so on.

The document would be easier to read, and thus more user friendly without the extra "citation" text.

  9. Instructor view mode

It would be useful to be able to view a list from the perspective of an instructor, rather than as library staff or as a student.

For example, we have different levels of tag visibility and would like to test how these appear for instructors.

  10. Being able as an instructor to see all reading lists attached to a specific course

As an instructor, it might be useful to search for a course (whether it is the instructor's courses or a collaborator's courses) to obtain the list of all related reading lists of that specific course. Right now, in the Instructor page, the search for course name will only list the reading list that the instructor has already created, or followed. Thanks

  11. Cite It support for LexisLibrary

LexisLibrary is a commonly used database of UK legal resources and articles. It would be much appreciated by our staff and students if Cite It support could be offered for this site.

  12. Extra scope in Leganto with all the citations already processed by the library

We would like another scope to be added in Leganto: The completed Leganto citations already approved by the library. Effectively, the content in Alma>Fulfillment>Course Reserves>Citations.

In most cases a citation will rarely be perfect when you import it to a reading list. You usually have to customize the citation in some way. To be able to reuse the already processed and completed citation will save a lot of work for both instructors and/or librarians. This is especially true for book chapters, as not many are catalogued in Alma as such.

Completed citations could be easily searchable by instructors in Leganto.

  13. Autofill CCC special order forms

When a reading cannot have copyright clearance immediately granted in Leganto, staff are notified to place a special order. Sometimes Leganto provides a direct link to a blank CCC form, but sometimes it doesn’t. In either case, the staff must enter all form information manually, even though that data has already been entered in Leganto.

Leganto should connect directly to the CCC form in all cases where a special order is needed, and autofill the form with all relevant data that has already been entered in Leganto. E.g., ISBN/ISSN, year, volume, pages, number of students, article or chapter title, etc.

  14. Make tags clickable

Tags look clickable in Leganto, even if they are not. It creates the expectation that something should happen. Some users might expect they will be taken to the full text of the citation, depending on the tag label.

What we would like to happen when a user clicks on a tag is that they get an overview of all the citations with the same tag. It's a quicker and more intuitive way than the current way of filtering by tag.

  15. Customisable text box in Leganto UI to provide library contact details

We would like the option for a library enquiry email address and phone number to be visible on all screens in the Leganto UI. A customisable text box could be added to the bottom left corner of the screen with this information.

  16. Adding metadata to articles via the search interface in ALMA

When using the Link Resolver on an uploaded article it needs comprehensive amounts of metadata attached in order to locate the resource.

If an article is uploaded without metadata the librarian needs to search Primo and manually add the needed metadata to the item.

In order to optimize the workflow we would like to be able to use Locate Resource in Alma to find the metadata and automagically add it to the item. As we are using Primo VE this should be possible.

  17. Configuration of a 'pop up' when creating a new list using a black tamplate.

When you create a new list using a blank template and want to add some sections you are able to add the first section however when you want to add a second section a pop-up appears which tells you to add items to the first section and this pops up in front of the add section button, also there doesn't seem to be a way of closing the pop up unless you click to add an item.

It would be good if there was an 'X' in the pop up so we can continue to add sections or an option…

  18. Edit Pane to remain on Screen when editing & saving an item.

When you edit an item in a reading list and click save the list advisor panel replaces the edit panel, it would be better for the edit panel to remain on screen after you've clicked on save as further edits may be needed to the same item?
