  1. Getting Started Reading List

When a new user accesses the reading list system maybe they should be greeted with an example reading list which includes citations from Leganto YouTube playlist showing the features and how to use the system. Possibly create a student version and another for the reading list designer to show. Librarians could edit the Getting Started List to include their own citations and sections as well

  2. Usability of Favorites in LTI view - How to access them

Using the LTI view (Blackboard Ultra site) the left menu (Lists and Favorites) is invisible which confines the view to the context of the LMS site the user is in. I can see why we would want to do that. However, it has the effect of making it virtually impossible for educator or student to be able to use their favorites.

Scenario: Educator adds a citation to their list in the LTI view, then decides it is so good they want to add it to their other lists. They copy it to their favorites.... then what! (They could just copy…

  3. Enable independent hiding of different viewers from Alma D

    Re: case 06749385

If an institution has multiple viewers configured for Alma D files, then in Leganto both will appear in the Links/availability area. However, if the educator decides that one of the viewers is better suited for their pedagogical requirements (e.g. Universal viewer has specific features for images/3d objects) and tries to hide the Alma Viewer, then both are hidden.

I feel like this is a bug, as both links have separate "hide" links, but hiding one hides both - they are not isolated. Yet, the Mark as Broken links do work independently.

I was asked to submit to…

  4. Hide the thumbnail URL in the citation view

In Leganto if the thumbnail URL is populated the whole URL (which could be long, unwieldy, and of no interest to the user) is displayed.

Just use it to show the thumbnail, but don't show the URL itself.

  5. In the Alma Reading list view of citations, allow Citation Last Modification Date to take operators such as 'before/after or between' etc

It would make some checks on reading lists easier if it was possible to more effectively filter the citations displayed, not just by the facets, but by having additional operator options for the Citation Last Modification Date. Having not just a specific date but before/after and between dates would make this more powerful.

It might be useful it it was possible be more intelligent here by offering a date since list sent for review, etc

  6. Improve Courses search in Alma - Add an 'is empty' operator in the advanced search option for Course Year

The persistent search in Alma has a Courses option, and an advanced search can be constructed based on several course fields, including Course Year. As this field is not always filled in by LTI or manual course creation methods, it would be useful if the search operators on Course Year allowed staff to search for an empty field as well as the current single option of "Contains Keywords".

  7. For Question and Answers in Leganto - allow a "cancel but add" option

Some instructors are trying to add multiple items very quickly and would like to be able to search and add items and then go back through and tag them.
In the current Question and Answer workflow, there is either a 'you must provide one response' type message, or there is a cancel option, but the cancel prevents items from being added. It would be useful in some cases to allow as cancel, but add option.

  8. Librarians would like to be able to feature lists in Find Lists by "Pinning" lists (or courses)

We have had an interesting suggestion from Library staff working with Departments on topical reading lists - they would like to be able to 'pin' such lists to the Find lists page to make them 'featured' in a similar way to which the default "Recommended" - Popular/New/Recently Updated' ones appear. Ideally a pinned list/s would be more prominent to users throughout the interface, but the Find lists as a landing page would make sense to promote a themed list for library services - being able to scheduled the pin would be even better, but the core concept of pinning something…

  9. Make the 'Mark as read' symbol more prominent

We feel that students are not making best use of this feature, perhaps because it's not immediately clear that the small 'tick' icon carries this function. Could this be displayed more clearly, for example by displaying the 'Mark as read' text without having to hover over the icon.
