Improve Related Titles hypertext linking and advanced search
As a user, I want advanced searches that are generated by clicking a related title hyperlink to use existing metadata as search parameters in order to accurately narrow the results to relevant records.
As currently implemented, the hyperlinks for related titles either takes the user to a locally held version of the record or generates an advanced search based on the title alone.
When a user clicks a link for a related title named "Berg, Jeremy M. (Jeremy Mark), 1958- Biochemistry. 5th ed. New York : W.H. Freeman, ©2002" they are taken to an Advanced Search for Biochemistry.
This search based on title alone returns 1,033,718 results. Searching for Biochemistry, by anyone, anywhere, at any time, makes the user feel as if clicking the link has taken them farther from their goal.
The simple act of adding the author's name (from the 76x-78x subfield a) to the search narrows the results to 15. 15 relevant and useful records.
