Use non-LC call numbers for journal categories
This affects Primo/PrimoVE; but the job is in Alma.
The new feature (as of Nov 2019) to browse a list of journals by category depends on the 050$a. This should be expanded to use the 055$a, 060$a, 070$a, 080$a, 082$a, 083$a, 084$a, 085$a, and 086$a. Additionally, libraries should be able to pick which of the subfields to use.
This is an example of the lack of support for non-LC libraries.

Deliver more accurate faceting of search results by improved use of PNX metadata
Can Ex Libris please look into a system whereby one content type can be privileged over another, supporting more accurate faceting of search results.
BACKGROUND
We recently discovered a number of CDI records incorrectly displayed the generic TEXT RESOURCE label for journal articles. It seems these records have been supplied by third party suppliers whose policies dictate that their metadata will not be updated, even upon request (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Summon/Content_Corner/Knowledge_Articles/Summon%3A_Fixes_to_Aggregator_Content_Data).In many cases the PNX metadata provided indications as to what these really were, even though the allocated resource type was TEXT RESOURCE.

Newspaper index activations should be on the ejournal/newspaper title level rather than on the collection level
The Newspaper Index should be activated on the ejournal/newspaper title level rather than on the collection level.
For example if you activate in PCI a target like Gale Onefile, that has newspaper articles from a range of different titles, the result is radically different in the main Primo index and the Newspaper Index.
The main index will have this activation on ejournal/newspaper title level, so will only display newspaper articles and other content that Alma or SFX says are subscribed.
In the Newspaper Index however the activation is on the Collection level, so that all Gale OneFile newspaper articles are…4 votes -
Search with 'OR' using DeepLinks
Query params in a deep-search are correlated with "AND" by default. It is not possible to correlate two query params of a deep link with a boolean OR.
This feature could be very useful, for instance if you want to search for an author including variant spelling (think of Primo Central Index). Or to query multiply keywords via a single Deep Link.

Number of location codes that can be included in a scope.
Scopes currently allow only 3 location codes. We would like to have that limit increased.

Untick the box "specific edition only" on the resource sharing form
On our user's resource sharing form, the box "specific edition only" is automatically ticked.
It's not efficient and helpful because almost nobody untick this box. And when we search the book and don't find the "right" edition, we don't know if the tick is desired or just by default.
So each time we meet this situation, we have to contact our user and it's a waste of time.If the box "specific edition only" is untick at the beginning, we know that we could trust in.

Resource Recommender / searchable tags / language code table
If you want to use the Resource Recommender feature in more languages than just English, you have to put all tags into the "Searchable Tags" box of the English interface. If you change to another language, the box is greyed out and can't be edited.
I would like to suggest an overhaul of this part of the RR to make the "Searchable Tags" just as avaible for other languages as title and description are.

Link generic checkbox in purchase request form to hold item function
We are using the purchase request form in PrimoVE. Is there a way to link the generic checkbox to the hold item function in the associated po line? So the hold item checkbox in the associated PO line is activated when the user checks the generic checkbox in the purchase request form? This would make it easier for us to manage purchase requests.

Add permalinks to Resource Sharing Form
When a user submits a RS request for an item in Primo, it would be helpful to have a permalink as part of that form. There is a "Source" field, but that isn't helpful in tracking down the original record the user was on. If the metadata in the request doesn't parse into the form correctly (which it sometimes doesn't for less common material types) and the user failed to add more detail, it would be helpful to have the permalink.

Calculate item level availability
For most Primo Central Index collections, availability status in Primo is based on your activated portfolio holdings in Alma. These holdings calculate availability at the publication-level based on the coverage entered.
Currently it is not possible to calculate availability in a way that recognizes item-level exceptions, such as when aggregator sources do not receive certain article types ('secondary' articles, brief articles, reviews, etc.) from the original publisher.
The proposed idea is to calculate availability at the item-level.

Support of CRediT - the Contributors Role Taxonomy within the article and local indexes
120 journals are now fully supporting this NISO standard (NISO Z39.104-2022) for authorship and roles (https://www.niso.org/standards-committees/credit). We believe this emerging standard will allow additional search functionality for authors who have played different roles within the construction of the scholarly article. Over 50 publishers have adopted this taxonomy across their publications (Elsevier, etc.)

Request: Please make it possible to find a match only by a title in Alma linkresolver
What I want is to make Alma link resolver find matches by a title. Now, Alma linker resolver is returning results only when ISSN/ISBN is given. And, a lot of CJK titles don't have ISSN/ISBN so that there are many occasions when a subscribed CJK portfolio without an identifier is not found in Primo service page. Unlike Alma link resolver, 360 link resolver supports title searching. This is the example of 360 link. The URL below doesn't contain ISSN information either but, it finds the correct match.
360 Link resolver:

Update Primo Central more frequently
As part of our implementation we have been making changes to our holdings in Alma. Following this we often see resources in Primo that are showing up in our full text results but are not available.
We are told this is because the holdings file, that the results are based on, is only updated once a week. It is produced on Wednesdays and then is applied the following Monday.
A more frequent update of the holdings file would be very useful as it would ensure that our users i.e. students and staff are more likely to get accurate information when…

Support Microsoft Edge for Primo
According to documentation (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Product_Documentation/Primo/New_Primo_User_Interface/010Frequently_Asked_Questions#Browser_Certification), Ex Libris does not support Microsoft Edge for Alma.
The use of Edge is growing and should be considered a major browser, and therefore supported.1 vote -

Provide system performance metrics
The Ex Libris Systems Status page only provides simple up/down and planned maintenance information. While this is important, it does not help with other issues, such as slow response time.
We would like to have access to system performance metrics, including volume of API calls and response time. This could be set up as more detailed information linked from the system status page, or perhaps as reports in the analytics system.Although I'm entering this as a primo improvement, it applies to all hosted products.

Display order: side by side instead of top-down
In Primo, allow the option to display to show print and electronic results side-by-side instead of one after the other. Also apply to link resolver results.

Include Citation type as a configurable field in Purchase request form
When a purchase request is made from Primo selected in Citation type: Book, the order line that is created is of type Physical-One time, and cannot be modified.
It would be nice to modify this default configuration.

Publish synonym list for hosted non-VE customers in Primo documentation
It was announced in the Primo mailing lists during August 2021 that the list of synonyms for Primo VE had now been added to the documentation page.
The equivalent documentation for non-VE Primo customers such as us is at:
As hosted customers, however, we still can't see the contents of the synonym files as described, as we don't have that sort of server level access. Therefore we are unable to determine:
(i) whether the non-VE synonym list bears direct comparison to the VE list,
(ii) if it does not, where the differences lie.
Significant staff time is taken up…
