Adding a field “Item Inventory Price” to the view customization table, as well as export files in item search results
It would be very useful and is much anticipated by customers to be able add a field containing Item’s Inventory Price to the Item information tile in the item search results in Alma.
The field should be added to the first column of the Manage Column Display/Customize View.
In addition, we would like to have this field added to export files that are created under the command: Export to Excel (current view / all fields). The National Library of Poland cooperates with 141 libraries. During consultations with other institutions most of them raised necessity of such solution.
Item Inventory Price…202 votesHi all, thank you for sharing this idea!
We will add the option to display item inventory price on the items search results page. This development will be part of the planned move to the new UX.

add "None" to Process Type facet for Physical Items search
When you do a Physical Items search in Alma, there is a facet for Process type. You can narrow the results of the search by Acquisition, Loan, Missing, Transit, etc. But you can't narrow the results to items without a process type. Adding "None" to the list of process types would solve that problem.

Add Description Field and Generate Button to ENUM/CHRON Tab in Item Record
It would be helpful to have the description field and generate button on the ENUM/CHRON tab in the item record. If someone is utilizing multiple enum/chron fields, beyond what's available in the General tab, they have to switch tabs to edit those fields and then switch back to generate the description (manually or through description templates and the generate button).
Alternatively, more enum/chron fields could be made available on the general tab. Possibilities include:
an expandable enum/chron section which by default shows only the first 2 of each (like what is currently available);
a customizable option that would allow institutions…30 votesHey all,

Additional Locations for Shelf Report
The ability to select multiple locations for the Shelf Report tool would be very valuable. For example, if we scan multiple floors but each floor is a separate location, we end up with a large number of items skew the report and require us running the same report again and trying to weed out the overlaps. This would also simplify the report if collections were intermixed within a physical location such as Floor 1 and Floor 1 - non-circulating or Floor 2 and Floor 2 - Oversized.
20 votesThank you for raising this idea. When running a shelf report, it will be possible to upload multiple files representing multiple locations in a certain library.

Serials: Editing of Description Needed
When opening predicted items, the Description-Field is populated by the data provided in “Next Predicted Item´s information” and displays these data in a certain punctuation-logic. Unfortunately, this logic is not equal to the description- (and punctuation-) logic used in German speaking countries (which is following ZETA-Standard) – and there is no possibility to edit this. Since there has to be a correct description (for sorting etc.), the only way is to open and edit every single item once it is created by prediction pattern. This is causing a lot of unnecessary work to be done manually - we need the…

It will be possible to have predicted items' descriptions created from the enum/chron fields using Alma's description templates.

Click through multiple item records to view and edit
When multiple items are attached to a single holdings record, currently there does not appear to be a way to click directly from one item to the next. Instead, we must click out of each item record viewed, go back to the list, and click into an new one. Having the ability to click directly through the list would help greatly when we need to check through the items for consistency in a field, for example. Additionally, the ability to edit while clicking directly through, in case an error is discovered, would be very helpful and reduce the number of…
15 votesDear all,
We'd like to update that this will be addressed as part of moving the items search and items list to the new UX - which will include side-by-side editing with up/down arrow navigation (with the option to open the editor in full screen while maintaining the up/down list navigation) - similar to what exists for PO Lines today.

Check for existing barcode in import profile
I would like to see a setting in the import profile to check the IZ for the pre-existence of the incoming barcode. Publishing and importing can be a fairly blunt tool that leads either to too many or too few objects being imported. When importing large numbers of records, there should be a setting in the match tab that looks for that barcode and rejects the item if that barcode already exists. This would prevent needless duplication especially when publishing on the bib level.

Add "Edit" button to item records from viewing, like holdings and bib records have.
When viewing bib and holding records, there is a link to edit mode that takes you into the metadata editor. If you are viewing an item record and realize that you would like to change it, you have to cancel, go back to the list of items, and then select edit from the action menu.
It would be handy to have an edit button on item record when viewing it, even though that isn't in the metadata editor.
It would be handy to have this feature in MANY other fields--there are lots of times when I click on something in…34 votesHey all,

List of items - when have several pages of items on a holdings, return back to active page
I apologize if this has already been posted (I searched and searched and did not see it), but when viewing a holdings record with a list of items that have multiple pages of items (like 6-7 pages) - it would be great if Alma would default back to the page of items you were actively on, versus defaulting back to page one - every time you edit an item record on list of items page. I know that the lines on invoices that were several pages used to do the same thing (default to page one), but was fixed.
Example,…

Add "item policy" and "temporary location" automatically to predicted issues
Acquisition librarians want to add automatically the "item policy" and "temporary location" to predicted issues to speed up their work and limit the number of clicks. At this moment the added value of prediction pattern functionality is being restricted by the lack of functionality (parameter setting) …
Use case: It’s not possible to add the item policy/temporary location as a parameter to continuous pol’s. If issues are created via prediction patterns the item policy/temporary location should be indicated automatically based upon parameter settings on pol level. This would save a lot of time and additional clicks when receiving the issues.…491 votesWhen creating a a POL, it will be possible to also define a default item policy and temporary location. This will be used when items are created (by a prediction pattern or manually) on POL or at receive time

Physical Item Editor - General Information Tab - add Chron. K (day) field
When in the Physical Item Editor (for periodicals receiving work), it would be more convenient if the General Information Tab included the field for Chronology K (for day of month), (along with the Chron. I (year) and Chron. J (month) fields). As it is, if the day of the month needs to be edited, you have to go into the separate ENUM/CHRON Information Tab.

Moving item records should have a better way of refreshing the list of items
When item records are moved from one location to another the move will be made and the list of items will refresh but then leave all of the items moved still on the page. From here there is no good option to refresh the page and continue working and moving item records. Using the Alma back button takes you back to the bib record where you have to reenter the the list of items. Moving a page forward on the list of items will display a blank page of no records being found. If a browser refresh is done a…

When viewing an item, there should be an option to edit without leaving the item screen
When you view an item (or click on the barcode to view an item), there should be an option on the item screen to edit the item. Instead, if we decide we need to edit the item, we have to back out of the item screen, then select Actions --> edit to edit the item. Too many clicks!
