Make all tables in Alma sortable by all their column headings
There are lots of tables in the Alma UI that come up which can be sorted by a couple of the column heads but not others. For example in Letters Configuration, you can sort by "Letter" or "Description," but not by "Enabled," "Channel," or "Retention Period." Being able to sort by column headings is a basic function of a table.
In the example above, it would be helpful to be able to see only those letters that are enabled, or to sort so that all the email letters are grouped together and all the SMS letters are separate from them.

440 votesThanks for the idea and comments – Ex Libris agrees with you that our support in sorting of tables should be expanded. While the idea to change lists across the entire system is clear the lists in Alma differ from one to another based on entities they manage and area of operation and functionality which often require specific handling of sorting related options for displayed columns. Due to various technical reasons related to list size, database indexing, languages and more, we typically need to improve each area separately and are unable to address this idea across the system for all lists in one software change.
Due to above, the practical way to move forward is to refer to types of lists and/or areas of the system that require improved sorting. One example is mapping tables and code tables, which can be handled as a group and changed for all such…

Alma emails: provide matching plain-text alternative to reduce spamminess
Currently Alma emails only include an HTML-formatted variant. Anti-spam software will typically penalise messages that do not contain a plain-text variant, increasing the odds that the message will be marked as spam. Providing a plain-text variant would also benefit users of plain-text only email readers. The plain-text variant should resemble the unformatted content of the HTML-formatted variant. If they differ this might suggest that the sender is perhaps sending an innocuous text in the plain text part just to get through spam filters, and again, would be penalised for this.

Publishing of alternative call number from Alma to Primo
Currently item-level information is not published from Alma to Primo. As a result creating of call number search and browse indexes that include both permanent as well as alternative call number is not possible.
182 votesDear all, I would like to update that after consulting with our colleagues in Primo on this development, it was decided that this idea will be closed as we are not developing new functionality enhancements for Alma-Primo, and will not be adding this to the existing “publishing to Primo”. Future new Alma-Primo enhancements will be done for Primo VE only.

Add option to not attach a logo to Letters (to reduce e-mail spamminess)
If we hide the logo by removing it from head.xsl, it's still attached to e-mails and contribute to increasing the spam score (which is already quite high due to several other issues like html-only content)
If an email logo is not uploaded, the header logo is used as the email logo. Can this please be changed? If an email logo is not uploaded, it might mean that we don't want an e-mail logo.
Alternative, to keep backwards compatibility, a new option "Don't attach logo to e-mails" could be introduced.

Idea Exchange Login
Get rid of what has been called the "magic link" login for the Idea Exchange. We'd like to go back to just a username and password. ("Magic link" is what it's been called on ALMA-L. It's where instead of asking for a username and password, you have to enter your password and wait for an email.)

Allow Users to lock preferred panel position for user details and summary panel
Currently the location of the summary panel for record views and patron details alternates between the right side of the page and the top of the page depending on window size. Sometimes even minimal changes to the window size causes this rotation. It would be nice if users could choose to lock the location of these panels to their preference, regardless of window size. This helps with consistency in documentation for manuals, as well as provides consistency in location if information when working on different computers.

Display number of results within a set on the Manage Sets page
It would be very helpful to be able to see the number of members or results within a given set on the Manage Sets page, rather than having to open each set to find out how many members or results it contains. This would make deleting old, empty sets, much faster and easier.

Make the confirmation message after a task is completed a hyperlink
When a task is completed in Alma, such as the creation of PO Line, a confirmation message appears at the top of the screen in Alma, such as:
Your request to order now POL-227 has been submitted.
OR
The request was successfully submitted : request id = 701397340002914

Add First Name/Last Name fields to Staff Login Report
Please add more fields to the Staff Login Report to help identify the staff in the list. At the moment it only reports out Primary ID which is just a staff number at my institution.
To be able to use the report more easily and effectively we need First Name and Last Name fields in the report.
Other fields could potentially be useful to some institutions such as User Group and Job Description.

Thumbnail images
We have discovered that when we add a digital representations to existing permanent library records (e.g. with electronic or physical inventory), the thumbnail display from the digital representation becomes the thumbnail display in Primo VE instead of the book cover. This is obviously not the way we want this to behave.
Can we please have the 'Book'/Journal cover to display instead of the digital representation/file image?

Make Interface Admin and Usage Stats Information Usable from Alma
It would be great if we could export username and password fields from the Administrative Information tab and Statistics Information tab located under the Vendor Interface Details page for each interface we have in Alma. As it is now, it is not possible to export this information using Analytics. We are currently required to either provide more access than is necessary for users who are tasked with collecting usage, or maintain a separate spreadsheet/database with URLs, usernames and passwords, which is an ongoing duplication of effort as these change frequently.

Send emails from different addresses using conditional logic for addressfrom in the XSL template
We want to set up an expiring user email in the user notification letter for the update user job. However it needs to come from different email addresses dependent on the users campus. So that the user can reply directly to the campus library. It would be helpful if you could use conditional logic on the addressfrom tag in the XSL template section of the letter configuration to do this.

Exclude operator roles from "start now" option in scheduled jobs in sandbox environment
As of now every role that has permission to monitor jobs in production can use the "start now" option in the scheduled jobs list in the sandbox. Several operator roles have this permission, e.g. purchasing operator, resulting in an unwanted and uncontrolled run of an institutional job by library staff testing our sandbox environment.
Therefore, we would like this permission to be restricted to manager or administrator roles. If that means, that operator roles need to be stripped of the permission to monitor jobs in production that would be fine for us. We hope that we do not have to…11 votesHello All,

Ability to mark selected manual jobs as favorites
Would it be possible to mark manual jobs that are run often as favorites? Currently there are 110 jobs listed under Admin > Manage Jobs and Sets > Run a Job. It would be helpful if I could mark jobs that I run regularly as favorites so that I do not need to search for or scroll down to locate the job I am looking to run.

Hyperlink call number.
While the hyperlinked title is a valuable tool, many of our daily searches necessitate use of of the call number. This is especially true for journals with multiple titles. Hyperlinking the call number would dramatically reduced search time. Being able to 'click through' to all titles linked with a call number would be most useful to our staff.

Allow for greater variety in the scheduling of export invoices.
Currently, there are only a handful of pre-defined choices for scheduling the invoice export. None of them fit the time our accounting department set aside to work with our invoices specifically. Please allow greater flexibility when selecting a time to export/import invoices, ex> 1500 hrs on Wednesdays.

Custom hot keys for Quick Links items
Have hot keys / keyboard short cuts for the Quick Links items. For example Alt + 1,2,3, etc. depending on the order of the items on the top bar. That way you can add quick links to the functions you use the most, and then have keyboard short cut to that function.
