  1. Exclude results in "Facets"

When viewing search results in Alma, it would be nice to easily exclude items based on their pre-determined facets. For example, showing all results except for those on loan. This can be accomplished via an advanced search as well, but it would be more convenient to have it available via the facets menu, similar to how it is in Primo.

  2. customize job schedules

The existing schedule options for jobs are limited to daily, weekly, or monthly. It would be nice to be able to customize job schedules.

For example, we'd like to run a job for an Analytics report every four months rather than every day, every week, or every month.

    Thank you for your consideration.

    Dear Community

This is already supported since May 2024, as documented in the Release Notes:

"Scheduling Support for Manual Jobs (Run a Job)"

    https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Release_Notes/2024/Alma_2024_Release_Notes?mon=202405

    Thanks,

    Uri Beladev

    Library Platform, Product Manager

  3. Consistently include Use Cases for new features listed in Release Notes

We'd like to see a use case or rationale for all Release Notes, in addition to the description of the new functionality and any necessary documentation. This could be something you could link to from the Release description, in the interest of brevity. While these are sometimes provided, their inclusion is currently sporadic.

Often while reviewing Release Notes with colleagues we find ourselves wondering exactly what problem is being solved and why someone would want to enable or adopt a new functionality. Including the use case or rationale for each enhancement could increase buy-in and understanding for a wider user…

  4. Online chat details and history

The online chat in Alma, is very useful and efficient, it's a shame, though, that the chat is not documented, and when a case is opened after the chat is closed, even the subject of the chat does not appear there. Only when support agent, actively writes a case, when it's too complicated issue for a chat, that the chat details appears. This problem might prevent customers from using the chat.

  5. Have a pop-up when you log in to Alma that tells you your current location

My team split their time between acquisitions/cataloguing and our circulation desk. They often complain that they forgot to change their location. We would like a pop up that appears as soon as you log in to Alma saying " Your current location is (e.g.) Acqs Dept - would you like to change it?"

  6. Support Microsoft Edge for Alma

According to documentation (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/010Getting_Started/050Alma_User_Interface_–_General_Information/010Browser_Requirements), Ex Libris does not support Microsoft Edge for Alma.
The use of Edge is growing and should be considered a major browser, and therefore supported.

  7. Local work order types

Our workflows are organized with local work order types. Now we need the full functionality: searching, updating, control the publishing process and statistical analysis via Analytics analogous Alma process types.

    Hey all,

The following functionalities are already supported in Alma:

    • The Change Physical Item Information Job allows adding / removing work order type from a set of items in bulk
    • The repository search supports searching for physical items in a specific work order types
    • In Exclude Process Types from Publishing configuration, work order types are supported in addition to the existing stand-alone process types (e.g. Loan, Lost, Transit), allowing libraries to exclude only items in a specific work order type from discovery
    • Based on "Exclude Process Types from Publishing", mark the items as suppresses in both the search result and item editor
  8. Ability to select Columns exported via Tools->Excel option

When in a view or screen with Tools option (for Excel) saving, it would be very helpful to be able to have more contol over the columns output.

User Roles is a great example. The list does not include the ACTIVE (Y/N) option, yet it is clearly an important piece of information when comparing users or building role templates. A repository search is another example. It has 18 fields pre-selected, however this could prove much more efficient if we could select to add or remove the columns that make the most sense to us prior to saving.

    Thank you for your suggestion!

This is an old suggestion, and a lot changed since it was created.

This functionality is already supported in Alma. You have the option to export to "Excel (current view)" - in which you can decide what do you want to export.

Let us know if you need further assistance.
