Massive copy of records from the community zone to the local catalog
In our institution, we have thousands of active electronic records for our institution but belong to the Community Zone. We want to copy massively these records to our catalog without having to do it one at a time.
Our usual procedure is, from an excel file in which we have the ISBNs or ISSNs of the electronic documents, to upload the portfolios from the electronic collection itself. In this way we bring and activate in our institution the portfolios of the collection, but this does not generate a local copy in our catalog of each of them. So, we have…48 votesThis idea has not received sufficient support from the community through votes. As a result, it is being closed to allow those votes to be reallocated to other active proposals. Should be prevented from saving a bib or holdings record where a non-repeateable field/subfield is repeated.
One specific example which just came to light while testing something is the holdings 852 field, which (unlike the bib 852) is NOT repeateable. Alma does not generate an alert in the ME and will save the record with the repeated field (tracking ID E05-2906180135-S9VHD-GENERAL)

Automatically tick the checkboxes in the "run a job" screen when entering text in the accompanying field, or...
When running a job and adding a fulfilment note to items in a set I have occasionally added text in the relevant field but forgotten to tick the checkbox next to it so that that running the job has had no effect.
It would be really useful if one of the two follow scenarios could be implemented to avoid this happening:
EITHER have the system automatically tick the checkbox when text is entered into the accompanying field. After all, if a user has entered text deliberately then it is because s/he wants that field to be populated and hence wants…

Making Alma Job Reports for Failed Record ("Total record not imported / deleted" ) more visible
We schedule our import profiles as much as we can. However, monitoring "failed record" is hard to follow:
When there are "records not imported" for whatever the reason, Alma's Monitor job History states "Completed Successfully" and
Import profile states: "File Processed" 100%
One has to look deeper into every scheduled Report to see if there are any "Total record not imported / deleted" and fix those faile records. If the data of "Total record not imported / deleted" could be pulled and displayed as one of the Columns under "Monitor jobs" - monitoring staff will only need to check reports…

Ability to see inventory of matched records in 'Side by Side Matching'
It would be very helpful to be able to see the inventory for matched records in 'Side by Side Matching' when working on records with import issues. Currently, it's necessary for me to have Alma open in a second browser and search for each matched title to see which collection the title belongs to, which then influences my decision on how to deal with the new record. This is shown if there is more than one match, but it would be great if it was shown for single matches as well.

relinking
Relinking monographs is clumsy, time consuming, and inefficient.
Add an option to search by MMS ID or OCLC Number in the NZ during the split screen search.
An automatic prompt asking whether to suppress or delete the old record from the IZ zone (upon saving) would be helpful.

About the default inventory when view inventory in Metadata Editor
When I click "view inventory" in Metadata Editor, if there are print holdings and electronic portfolios connected with the bib, the default inventory show the electronic portfolios.
I think the deault inventory showed should be holdings. Because we seldom edit portfolios in metadata editory.

Fix $g in 773 / 774 related records
According to documentation (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/040Resource_Management/040Metadata_Management/130Configuring_Related_Records_for_Physical_Inventory), $g in linking entry MARC fields (such as 773 or 774) "links to specific items for the record specified in the $w, $x, and $z subfields). According to support " it is outside Alma's current functionality to be able to be separate an item from a collection of related bib records. It would be an enhancement to this functionality."
I am proposing that Ex Libris fix or enhance this functionality so it will work. My institution has a large collection of 'bound with' physical materials from the 1700s with analytical cataloging. For example, 26…

Open second search box when "Advanced" is selected from persistent search
The default persistent search box in Alma is one line. For a more complex search, I click on "Advanced". I then (always) have to click on the plus sign to get a second row for additional critieria. I would like for the system to automatically open that second search box when "Advanced" is chosen. Thank you.

Allow full customisation of the keyword index
Since every institution has a different idea of what constitutes a "key" word, we would greatly appreciate the ability to customise the keyword index for ourselves. A table to allow us to add and remove MARC fields and subfields would be in keeping with much of Alma's back office design.

Results from "Browse Shelf Listing" and "Browse Bibliographic Headings" searches should be exportable
When you do a search using "Browse Shelf Listing" and "Browse Bibliographic Headings", the results show up in an editor that does not give you the option to export the search results. The results from these searches are hard (or impossible) to replicate using a search or analytics.

Increase download limit on large sets
The limit on the number of records that can be download to Excel from a set is around 70,000 records. Sometimes it's necessary to download larger sets (200,000+) but this is limited by size. It would be better if there was an option to download in CSV so larger data sets could be exported. Or, the Retrieve Set Members API was improved to include the information that is present in the Excel file downloaded from the set's results page. Or, there was an additional export job that allowed a set to be exported using one of the bulk jobs under…

Allow option to abort import once it has been submitted
Once an import has been submitted, there should be an option to abort or cancel the import.
Sometimes mistakes are made. The wrong import profile is chosen, the wrong file is chosen. Often the mistake can be noticed very quickly, but there is no choice but to wait until the entire import file is loaded. And by then the damage is done, it can be very tedious in Alma to undo certain mistakes (portfolios imported to the wrong collection for example).
Alma offers the action option to "abort" once a job has been submitted. This same option should be available…

Make Suppressing a location function the same as suppressing a holding in all publishing jobs
Currently, the general publishing job exports inventory in locations which are ticked "Suppress from Discovery" in Physical Locations config, when "Excluded Suppressed Locations: is ticked in the Publishing Profile.
Alma should handle this flag as it does for Publishing to Primo and Publishing to Libraries Australia and ignore suppressed locations, otherwise what's the point of setting this at the location level and then providing an option to Exclude suppressed records. It is extra work to set this value for each individual bib/holdings record.

Fuzzy match method is creating too many duplicates with import profiles.
Fuzzy match between author and title is checking too many subfields in MARC-field 100. I.e. 100 $a Øverland, A. O. $d 1855-1911 $q Ole Andreas is matched against 100 $a Øverland, A. O. $d 1855-1911 and is considered not the same person, it seems. When the record also has title in 245 $a which are exactly the same, it is consdered a "not match" and a new record is imported. I would like to suggest that only subfield 100 $a is checked. 245 $a should be checked together with $n and $p. In addition i would like to have 250…

Add indication of where I am browsing at Browse bib headings
The user often does not know where s/he was browsing at Browse bib headings after moving away from the left pane. Could EXL add an indication e.g. by a different color to the current bib heading on the left pane to remind the user?
Also it'd be helpful to show the call number on the right pane to save the time to click into the record to read the call number.
For EXL people: Please read Salesforce case # 00527082 for more details.

Disallow deletion of sets that are used by jobs (publishing profiles, etc)
When deleting sets, please perform a check to see if that set is in use by a publishing profile or other job, and show a popup dialog telling the user that the set cannot be deleted because it is in use, or allow deletion but warn the user that the set is in use by a publishing profile etc.

Change the design or position of the search box on a set's Add Members screen
On the classic UI, when a staff member clicked on Add Members in a set they used to get a separate set of search boxes - with the "Find" box offering the choice of just one thing, e.g. Physical Items - into which to add the barcode or whatever else of the item they wanted. The persistent search box remained on screen, but had palpably nothing to do with the Set.
In comparison on the new UI, when a staff member clicks on Add Members they get a search facility which behaves the same way as its predecessor, but (i)…

Searching ISBN and Multimatch handling of ISBN-matches
I think perhaps searching ISBN may be a little too sensitive. When I search ISBN 978 -82-93206-05-7 I get no result (no records found). When I remove the space and search this: 978-82-93206-05-7 I get one record.
When importing files (Repository - Import from file) and a record in the file has spaces in stead of hyphens or spaces in addition to hyphens, I get many multimatches as it seems to be a match for all ISBNs that start with the part of the ISBN before the space, but not for the real match. In other words, I get i.e.…
