1. Hide Renew option when Patron Mediated Renewal is Rejected (Borrowing Requests)

   We use Alma Resource Sharing and have Primo VE. We want to use the Patron Mediated Renewal workflow for Borrowing requests. This means that users will be able to request Renewal of their interlibrary loans via their My Library Account in Primo.

   Whilst testing the workflow we found that when users request a renewal and the partner library rejects the renewal, after notifying the patron via email, the Renew option reappears in My Library Account against the loan. This was confirmed by Ex Libris as expected behaviour in our SalesForce ticket #00827864.

   This is misleading when the user has already been informed by email that the renewal is not possible. It also could result in unnecessary renewal requests if the user chooses to continue clicking Renew.
   
   Instead we would like the Renew option in My Library Account to be hidden when the partner library has already rejected a renewal request in the case of the patron meditated workflow being activated.

   The Renew option could either be removed entirely (like when the terms of use for Interlibrary loans are Not Renewable) or be replaced with a configurable label e.g. ‘Renewal not available’.

2. Pin metadata editor toolbar when scrolling

   Our catalogers would like the metadata toolbar (file-edit-tools) to remain at the top of the bib record so that they do not have to use the far right scroll bar to scroll up and 'uncover' it. This seems to happen when they have been working with a holding and then return to the bib. It would be great not to need that extra step.

3. RS sharing partner list

   Being a library staff member, having role "Resource Sharing Partners Manager", I'm able to obtain a list of resource sharing partners, also including addresses and other important information which may affect RS workflows or communication.

   Having that list at hand, I can regularly check and correct RS partner records, if necessary.

4. An in process/holding status in Resource sharing lending

   We would like to see a status called 'In Process' created for Lending.

   There are often times when you need to contact a requesting library to confirm details. However as there is no applicable status to change the request to it risks being worked on by another individual if we leave it in unassigned.

   We could assign the item to ourselves however, if someone else receives the response or if the staff member concerned is away then the request gets held up longer because its not accessible. Ultimately you end up with double handling and it becomes a very inefficient process. Both in staff time and in the time it takes to get the book to the requesting library.

   Having an 'In process' status would indicate the item was worked on and is waiting for a response. It would also mean we could check on it frequently to ensure the request isn't forgotten about.

   We would like to see a status called 'In Process' created for Lending.

5. Convert a lending request into a borrowing request.

   We can easily convert a borrowing request into a lending request, the other way around is impossible without losing all information about the lender.

   As we supply libraries with material from other libraries we now have to manage the request in both Lending and Borrowing.

6. Enable a user to upload a snip or screenshot to the resource sharing request form

   When placing a resource sharing request, our users sometimes wish to attach a screenshot or snip to give us additional information about their requested item. Could this ability be added to the resource sharing form please.

7. Modify the renew request reject note sent to partner for lending request

   When a resource sharing lending request receives a renew request and is rejected, the following note is sent to the partner “Note: Cannot be renewed, maximum renew date DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM:SS AEST was exceeded.” This note is confusing to the partner as the maximum renew date in the note is the date which the request was processed not the due date. In addition, the note implies the renew date of the loan has passed the allowed time, however the renew date has not been exceeded. The note could be improved by simplifying it to say “Cannot be renewed, maximum loan period reached.”

8. Provide the ability to sort the order of Resource Sharing Requests and General Electronic Services requests.

   Right now he tables which control the orders of requests in the Get It Window are currently not "interdisciplinary", which means that it is possible to sort the order of all General Electronic Services among themselves, all Online Service, etc. But it is not possible to control the complete sorting of services in the ViewIt or GetIt. Would be nice to sort together.

9. Facilitate entry of data into the resource sharing form from an external source

   Recent user experience testing for our resource sharing service indicated users would like a way to easily paste in data from other websites into the resource sharing form. For example, they would like to harvest the data easily from Google Scholar or another database and enter this into the form without manually copying and pasting each piece of data from one website into the webform. One way this could be accomplished is using a browser extension similar to Leganto's Cite It. When they find a resource they would like to request, this browser extension could harvest the required data. The user could then open the resource sharing form and paste all the data at once from the browser extension into the form. The browser extension might also have the ability to lodge the request information directly into Alma, bypassing the resource sharing form in Primo altogether.

10. Clearer displays for different types of Borrowing Requests

    Borrowing Requests could use some greater detail and variability in the information fields that display when viewing them in the overall list of current requests. For example, in Borrowing Requests for book chapters (typically "digital format" requests for items with a "book" type), the "Chapter Title" field is hidden in the "Other details" tab; this field would be more immediately visible and helpful to staff if it displayed alongside other standard fields (ex: MMS ID, External Identifier, Partner, Requested Format, etc.) before clicking into "Other details". In addition, when a request specifies an article from a journal, the request's title helpfully displays as "Article Title/Book Title"; having this same format with "Book Chapter/Book Title" would be much clearer as well, but these currently only show the book's title.

11. RS Borrowing External Resource Search

    We would like to be able to perform Advanced Searches on our External Resources (from the RS Borrowing screen) and not just keyword searches. Alternatively, we would like to define the default search as 'Contains Keywords' instead of 'Contains Phrase'. This would make our searches more accurate.

13. Automatic selection of "Complete the request" when shipping Lending Digital requests

    For Lending Digital requests, could the "Complete the request" be automatically selected when we ship an item (or maybe the recent choice remembered) – so we don't have to select it each time we supply an item?

    For some reason the Resource Sharing Borrowing Requests screen does not have a back button or a method of clearing the search. Even if you quick link the screen the link takes you to the search you have just done. It would be extremely useful to have a back button or a method of clearing the search.

15. Display user's loan due date in borrowing request screen

    When a user who has an interlibrary loan requests a renewal of the item, staff need to check both the due date that the partner library has set, and the current due date of the loan on the user's record. This is because we can sometimes extend the due date of the loan without requesting a renewal from the partner library, since the loan due date will still be within the due date that the partner has given us. To do this check, staff need to view the borrowing request (to see the partner library's due date) as well as the user's record to check the current due back date. To make this process quicker and simpler, we would like user's loan due date for the item attached to the borrowing request, to display in the borrowing request screen.

17. Autocomplete Alma Resource Sharing form with a DOI

    When a user enters a DOI into the Alma Resource Sharing form we would like to see the form use the DOI to auto-populate the rest of the metadata for the user.
    This is a functionality we have had our users requesting.

18. Adding notes when rejecting a Resource Sharing partner

    There are two places within Alma where it is possible to reject a Resource Sharing partner - in one place, the internal note is added to the Notes tab of the request; in the other, it isn't.

    We would expect the same action to have the same effect in both places - the fact it doesn't forces the workflow into a less optimal route.

19. Display name of resource sharing partner on Requests page in My Account

    On the "Requests" page in "My Account," for resource sharing requests, display the name of the resource sharing partner once the request has reached the "Shipped Physically" stage. Currently, the "My Account" screen does not indicate the name of the institution that is lending the item (see a screen capture: http://screencast.com/t/aovDseh1). Faculty have requested that the name of the institution be visible in My Account so that they would have an indication of how long it might take for an item to arrive (based on geographic distance).

    Ex Libris confirmed via Salesforce case #00221339 that this change would require additional development and suggested submitting it as an Alma enhancement via Idea Exchange.
