  1. Add Collection metadata to the Digital Inventory Subject Area in Analytics

One of the most important fields for reporting on Digital material in Analytics is Collection. However there is currently no Collection field in the Digital Inventory Subject Area in Analytics.

Workarounds for this are extremely time consuming making reporting on digital material a hard task.

We would like to see Collection added to the Digital Inventory Subject Area in Analytics and the Digital Usage Subject Area in Analytics

In the March 2019 release we have added the title level collection (collection name and collection id) to the shared bibliographic details folder. The shared bibliographic details folder is in nearly all subject areas including the Digital Inventory Subject Area in Analytics and the Digital Usage Subject Area in Analytics

  2. Add separate fields in Analytics for valid (020 $a) and invalid (020 $z) ISBNs

At present Analytics displays all ISBNs recorded in a bib record in a single field, whether valid (020 $a), i.e. the true and accurate ISBN for the manifestation recorded, or invalid (020 $z), i.e. an incorrect ISBN or an ISBN for an alternative manifestation.

It would be useful to be able to search and display these separately (for matching using collection management tools, etc.).

The ISBN valid and ISSN valid fields were added to Titles > Bibliographic IDs.
For MARC 21, ISBN valid contains only 020 subfield a and ISSN valid contains only 022 subfield a.
For UNIMARC, The ISBN valid contains only 010 subfield a and ISSN valid contains only 011 subfield a.

  3. Adding more scheduling options for emailing Scheduled Reports (Alma Analytics Objects)

Currently, there are limited scheduling options for emailing Scheduled Reports (Alma Analytics Object area). Many of our users need reports delivered on the 1st of each month in order to capture the previous month's data. The only option right now somewhat close to that is delivery on the 2nd of each month. This doesn't work for us because it adds the first day's worth of data from the next month to the previous month. I propose adding delivery options for the 1st of each month. Better yet - how about offering a drop-down list where users can choose a certain…

    Dear Colleagues,

We have added a new and flexible scheduling Module in the Analytics UI. With it, it is possible to schedule any day or time and define its recorrance level (wether monthly/daily or hourly). In addition we have added the ability to schedule Analytics links as well  as attachments (links will work for authorized users) . We encourage Analytics admins who did not switch on the new analytics UI yet, to do so and try the new UI and its new scheduling capabilities.

  4. Correcting Alma Analytics

In Alma Analytics, if you want to get a report of items that their replacement cost is under $50 for example, the program is written in such a way that looks at the costs in decimal order. So your report will include all items that cost $100, $200, $300, $400, etc. as long as the first digit is under 5. So you will end up with wrong results. Please correct this so the program looks at numbers as whole numbers not by decimal order. Thank you.

  5. True anonymisation of user purge with "Keep statistics" option

When purging users, the option recommended to retain anonymised statistics is the "Keep statistics" option. However this option "anonymises" the statistics by moving the Primary ID into the Last Name field.

For us, and many other libraries, the Primary ID is a unique personal identifier associated with the student - it's even more identifiable than their name! So this does absolutely nothing to anonymise the statistics or to increase compliance with our Privacy Act.

We'd expect instead of using the Primary ID in this way, some random hex code should be generated (or at least use the Alma internal user…

A Keep Statistics and Remove Primary ID (Recommended) option is now available on the Delete User Policy page. The new option is selected by default for new customers.
When selecting the new option and purging a user record, the last name column is populated with an internal unique Alma ID instead of the Primary ID.
Additionally, if you select Keep Statistics and Remove Primary ID (Recommended) when the prior selection was Keep fully reportable or Keep statistics, a confirmation message is displayed to indicate that user records that were previously purged using the previously selected option will also be updated, and you are asked to confirm the choice. When you confirm, a new job updates the previously purged user records.

  6. Add "Electronic collection" subject area in analytics

I want to count the subscribed database collections for yearly statistics. However , it is found that only the collections with portfolios can be drawn in "E-Inventory" subject area. There is no way to draw the electronic collection statistics without portfolios so that I suggest to add a dedicated subject area.

  8. "Manage purchase request" available in Analytics reports

Alma allows the export to Excel of the data found in the "Manage purchase request" option. The export is usually a slow process, which will surely slow down as the purchase requests stored in Alma increase.
We would like all this information to be available in Analytics so that we can manage it in a simpler way.

The new Purchase Requests subject area was added to Alma Analytics aspart of Alma September release. Using the fields of this subject area you can create reports concerning purchase requests and answer the following business questions:
How many purchase requests were made in a time range?
How many purchase requests were assigned to a user?
How many purchase requests have a PO line?
How many purchase requests were made per status?

  9. Extend time before analytics times out

Whenever I am working on an analytic report, it often takes hours. But after a few minutes, if I do not go back to Alma to do a fake search to refresh its link to analytics, analytics would time out.

Can you extend the time to at least an hour before analytics times out?

  10. create out-of-box institutional standards reports (i.e., ACRL, IPEDS,ARL)

Since many institutions have to complete these standardized reports annually, it would be helpful if a template existed for each one so we wouldn't have to re-create them each year. As the reports are revised by the sponsoring organization/agency then Ex Libris can update the out-of-the-box report as part of the monthly features.

  11. Enhance Cost Per Use reports

It would be really good if we could customise the Cost Per Use reports to better reflect the data each institution might want to collect. For example, they might need the cost data to be based on invoice subscription dates rather than fiscal year paid. Another example is wanting to calculate on usage on a specific platform rather than combined usage across all platforms.

In August 2019 we officially released a new Cost Per Use structure integrated into the E-Inventory subject area with special consideration for determining the COUNTER platform in the Cost Per Use. On August 13th we had two world wide webinars (for different time zones) explaining the new feature. This was developed together with a group of early testers and development partners via a Basecamp group that met regularly, consisting of 17 librarians from 11 institutions. This also includes the fund information in the e-inventory subject area as requested in ideas exchange with 174 votes https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308173-alma/suggestions/19256761-in-analytics-add-fund-information-to-e-inventory-s

  12. way to report in Analytics for the POL Note

Need the ability to report in Analytics for the POL Note. We would like to be able to pull a report for POLs which have a note.
The only POL note that I can find in Analytics is the Note to Vendor but the notes we are adding are not in this field.

  13. In Analytics add fund information to e-inventory subject area. This needs to be available at both the collection and portfolio levels.

The e-inventory subject area needs fund information added to it at both the collection and portfolio levels so users can write reports that show them how much they have paid for their e-inventory based on a given fiscal year and/or at the p o line level.

Completed as part of February Release.
The Cost Usage folder was added to the E-Inventory subject area. It enables you to create reports that display the cost per use for electronic resources.

  14. Need a way to retrieve HOLDINGS where there are no ITEMS associated with the holding

Currently, there is no good way in either Advanced Repository search or Analytics to retrieve Holdings records that do not have items attached. The "has no inventory" indexing only returns bibs with no holdings, not holdings with no items. In order to have the holdings fields exposed to the Repository Search, you must select either Physical Title or Physical Item, which then only looks at records where there is an associated item record.

The same seems to be true in analytics. I can create an analysis using the Titles table and filter to "Number of Physical Items (All) = 0",…

  15. Pre-caching Analytics for faster first-time loads

The first time an institution runs reports in subject areas each day, it usually takes a long time to load. The presumption is that, behind the scenes, Oracle is doing some cache work so that reports run later in the day don't face the same sort of delay.

For large institutions, or complex structures, this can be a significant delay.

Is there a way that institutions or Ex Libris could perform a "pre-cache" so that users don't have to face that early morning sluggish start?

  16. Add POL Access Provider to Analytics

Quite frequently we purchase our resources through a third party vendor, e.g. Ebsco, but the access provider is different, e.g. Taylor & Francis. It would be really useful to be able to view the Access provider information in Analytics as well as the vendor information. Currently we can only see the vendor information.

  17. Put oclc number as the first oclc number in the Network number in analytic reports

When a bib record has 035 and 775 which has an OCLC number, in an analytic report, the 775 number is the first OCLC number in the Network number column. But if a record only has 035 subfield a and z, then the OCLC number for the resource is the first OCLC number in the Network number column.

When we are doing an analytic report retrieving the OCLC number, we are only interested in the OCLC number of the resource, not its the OCLC number of its other edition (755). This confusing order of resource OCLC number makes this Network…

  18. Additional File Format Options for Scheduled Analytics Reports

When setting up a scheduled analytics report there are a couple of file format options: Excel, PDF, text.

The text option is not useful and what we really need is CSV and Tab Delimited options.

I realize you can have it provide Excel and then you can resave it, but that requires extra processing steps that should not be required in this day and age.

  19. Analytics reports by journal title for resource sharing borrowing requests

Our subject librarians have requested that they would like to be able to run reports in Alma Analytics by journal title for resource sharing borrowing requests. When title is selected in Analytics, it only provides the article title but we would like the journal title. Is this possible already or is it something that is planned for inclusion in future?

Now that counter usage is more fully available via Analytics (thank you!), it would be useful to have the following measures available in the E-Inventory subject area: Journal Usage (JR1), Whole Book Usage (BR1), Partial Book Usage (BR2), Media Usage (MR1).
