How can we improve Rapido?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Mediate requests based on presence of certain fields

    We would like to be able to mediate requests based on the presence or absence of certain fields, such as the page numbers. For instance:

    For physical requests which include the number of pages in the book due to either an error in the patron understanding the blank form or a database importing information wrong, anything that gets sent directly to a RapidILL partner gets interpreted by the system as a copy request. The lending library will either send back a bad citation or pass it on without filling it, delaying the request and wasting potentially multiple lenders' time. We'd…

  4. Add Lending Mediation Rules

    It would be extremely helpful to have Lending Mediation Rules similar to the Borrowing Mediation Rules. Even if the rules only added labels to use with Sets would be a huge improvement.

  5. Patron wants to receive particular material type through Rapido

    Patrons select sometimes a particular material type, e.g. an audio book in our Primo VE. With Rapido, if patrons request their preferred media, e.g. the audio book of a title, the Rapido lending request is sometimes placed on a different material type, e.g. a physical book. This is not what patrons expect.

    The lending library cannot not know which format the patron wants, and therefore sends a wrong document to the pickup library.

    This happens when there are separate bibliographic records per material type in the Primo VE search result. However, in the Global Title Index (GTI), the material type…

  6. Add geographical location of libraries to Analytics Reports

    We are talking more and more about international lending, but it’s not possible to create an Alma Analytics report using partners’ geographic locations. (RapidILL, for example, includes the partner library’s state in their statistical reports). It would be useful to know how much material is supplied by international partners, and how much we lend internationally.
