  1. Add ability to keep assets in sets in a specific order

It would be great to have the ability to keep the assets within a set in a specific order. Now that we can use Analytics reports to create sets in Esploro, we would like to use top 10 lists we have created specifically for our institution to create sets of “top 10” assets, and add them to the Top 10 lists area on our homepage. You can currently do all of those things, but the set will not not stay in top 10 order. So the list that displays on the home page is not in top 10 order.

  2. Include additional entities on CV (media mentions, projects)

Add the option to include missing entities (media mentions & projects) on the CV.
As we enable these new features on profiles they are more obviously missing on the CV.

  3. Allow researchers to add their own Media Mentions and Grants via the Add Content menu.

Currently, Media Mentions and Grants can only be added via the admin side. Researchers should have this ability as well. Media Mentions (MM) and Grants could be added via the Add Content menu, with submissions approved by the library (similar to assets). The library would either need to enable these tabs on the researcher profiles, or they would automatically appear if MM or Grants are added.

  4. Header Search Bar Configuration

The ability to enable/disenable the header search bar separately for the portal, profiles and projects. This would enable flexibility for administrators and the removal of a second and not needed search bar in the portal.
We have neither the profiles nor the projects enabled, so the removal of the header search bar would work well for us.

  5. Searching for Labels

When it comes to customizing and configuring the labels (Configuration > Portal & Profiles > General Settings > Labels), we have to go through each label section one by one to search for the desired label to update. Is it possible to add a search feature to Labels, such as in Alma where we can search either by description or code name?

  6. Search improvement

The search routine in esploro should have the same functions like it is available for Primo --> auto autocomplete or "did you mean?"

    Would be a great improvement.

  7. Display Esploro Asset Creation Date in Portal

I received the business/use case below from Carla Cher, the Manager, Intellectual Property and Commercialisation here at RMIT University for displaying the record creation date in a publicly available asset record on the portal.

Carla wrote, "this is extremely important information because our team needs to know the date something is published as this may have an effect on whether we can apply for a patent or not for particular areas of technology.  In addition, patent offices will search the database for the thesis when examining a patent application and may reject an application because they consider the date it…

  8. Display embargo release date in Esploro research portal

We would like the ability to display the "Release Date", i.e. the date that the embargo on an asset was lifted, in the public research portal. We would like for the embargo release date to display in the asset details for both assets that are currently embargoed and assets who's embargo has lifted.

We think it would be helpful to have an indication in the public asset metadata that the asset was embargoed at some point. This would be helpful for researchers, and also (especially for ETDs) for the asset's author to understand when the asset became available.

  9. Add ability to control thumbnail image and alt text

For assets that have multiple files uploaded, we would like to control which file/image is used for the thumbnail on the search results and assets page in Esploro. I have the following sample ETD where two JPG files are uploaded. I would like to use the image Collection.jpg as the thumbnail, but no matter what file name I use or what order I upload files in, the thumbnail continues to use the CollectionInvitation2.jpg file.

There should be a field that allows us to choose which file should be used for the thumbnail image. In addition, there is no Alt…

  10. Esploro - Add action for assigning a name variant to job Update Set of Research Assets

Sometimes we need to bulk update the name displayed in the Discovery Portal for a Researcher. To do so we create a new name variant but we would also like to bulk update all assets related to this specific Researcher with the new "Name Variant".

To do so an action "Choose Name Variant" could be added to existing Job: Update Set of Research Assets / Task Creator or Contributor

Such a feature would also be very useful to refine the data after an import via file or an harvesting.

  11. Configure date types used for searching and filtering in research portal

Currently, the Date facet in the research portal includes all types of dates associated with an asset (e.g. created, published, submitted, availability). Some of these dates may be used more for administrative purposes (i.e. we use Submitted for when items like ETDs were added to the repository, which may not be related to when the asset was created), and therefore should not be used for filtering search results for users.

Additionally, because not all of the date types display in the asset details, the search results when using the date facet can be confusing for users. If a user filtered…
