DEAD SEA SCROLLS ELECTRONIC LIBRARY (Brill)
Please create a new electronic collection DEAD SEA SCROLLS ELECTRONIC LIBRARY with the URL https://scholarlyeditions.brill.com/library/urn:cts:ancJewLit:dss
containing the following 3 portfolios as described in the link I shared above:
- Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library Non-Biblical Texts
- Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library Biblical Texts
- Codex Leningradensis
The individual parts can already be found in Alma, but not as part of the "Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library" yet.
Best,
Igor
Hello,
Brill has confirmed that the following resources are sold individually, not as part of a bundle:
- Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library: Non-Biblical Texts
- Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library: Biblical Texts
Accordingly, there is no title list available for a combined “bundle,” and each resource must be activated separately from Brill’s Scholarly Editions Collection (Collection ID: 615460000000000307).
Brill also confirmed that there are no separate details available for Codex Leningradensis, as it is an add-on to the Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library Biblical text, and is not sold independently.
Therefore, we will not be creating a new collection as you suggested.
Kind regards,
Tamar

Hello Igor,
Brill confirmed that there currently is no option to provide a separate URL or metadata for this content, it is merely provided as an additional service with the Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library Biblical text.
Therefore, we will not create a separate collection/database for this resource, and it should be managed locally.
Kind regards,

Hello Igor,
Thanks for clarifying.
We will review this issue again with Brill.
However, if they are unable to provide a confirmed title list, any portfolio we create in the CZ will not accurately reflect any future changes to this resource.
We are hesitant to create resources without supported title lists from providers, as maintaining and updating them becomes unsustainable when changes occur.
I will wait for Brill’s response with any updates.
Kind regards,
Tamar -

Hello Tamar,
Thank you for this information.
It seems that there is a misunderstanding: I never said that these resources must be bought in a bundle. I also didn't expect some additional title list.
If you go to https://brill.com/display/package/dsso and have a look at the content information, it says that "The Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library includes Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library Biblical Texts and Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library Non-Biblical Texts". This is an official information from Brill.
All I ask from you (and from Brill) is just to map this information. As Brill states, the Codex Leningradensis is part of the Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library Biblical text, and it must be addressed separately with its own URL - so, it would be best also to add this as a separate portfolio.According to this logic, the Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library would consist of:
Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library Non-Biblical Texts: https://brill.com/display/db/dsno
Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library Biblical Texts: https://brill.com/display/db/dsbo
Codex Leningradensis: https://scholarlyeditions.brill.com/library/urn:cts:ancJewLit:hebBible/Best,
Igor
