Community Zone collection for Scholarly Publishing Collective
Duke University Press's Scholarly Publishing Collective now hosts content from JSTOR Journal Hosting Program as of January 3, 2022. Being able to activate the entire collection in Alma would be a great help!
Hello,
We are aware of this planned platform change and are working with the providers to meet the requirements.
To track our progress, please see: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Cross-Product/Providers_Page/Guides_and_Documentation/Provider_Changes_In_Progress#Scholarly_Publishing_Collective_(SPC)
Thank you,
Rael

I'm going to add some votes but agreee that this should not require voting. They provide CDI for other Duke collections this should just be part of the work flow. If Ex Libris is not aware of the need, one request to support should be all that's required to get it added.

I couldn't agree more that major platform migrations should be integrated into regular CZ updating. This is part of quality assurance: Making sure the e-titles or e-collections are updated with publishing or vendor changes.

I asked Duke University Press on December 8, 2021 whether they would contribute a CZ collection, and they said, "Yes, we've been in regular communication with Ex Libris about the migration. We just sent them a KBART file a few days ago."
I filed a case with Ex Libris (#06208943) to ask that they add the collection. I received the response on December 15, "We have indeed been working closely with Duke/SPC on this migration.
I have sent the KBART to the Content Operations Team with a request that they create the target. It is unlikely that it will be ready by January 1, 2022. JSTOR/SPC have reassured us that the links will redirect during the transition."So, Duke has transmitted their file to Ex Libris, and we are just waiting for Ex Libris to load the file and create the collection.

Platform migrations should be managed by vendors exchanging information but it looks JSTOR or Duke forgot to inform Ex Libris and probably other providers about this platform migration. I opened a Support case with ExL and also emailed Duke but here is additional information in case this Idea exchange is what is needed to get the ball rolling.
JSTOR is ending its journal hosting program after Feb 28, 2022 (see https://about.jstor.org/l/jhp-end/). Many journals will migrate to the The Scholarly Publishing Collective’s platform managed by Duke University Press, in fact the platform went live on January 3, 2022. See details of this new collective and the title list linked from this page:
https://scholarlypublishingcollective.org/pages/for_librarians?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=SPC%20for%20Librarians&utm_campaign=j-LR-SPCpubliclaunch-JAN2022We need at least one new CZ collection for this new platform or the new portfolios added to an existing Duke University Press collection.
