PCI Collections Descriptions
PCI Collections have very minimal descriptions. It's very time consuming to try and track down the appropriate page on the external resource's site to both see descriptive information about the collection and also try to get publication and title indexes. What if this was all made available through one of ExL's websites? At least knowing what is available in a collection before hitting "activate" (including number of titles, title lists, etc) would be fantastically more effective, rather than blindly switching on PCI collections because they sound cool.
Hello,
Many metadata improvements have done to the quality and collection descriptions in CDI.
Please open a separate idea for specific collections/providers that still lack in the descriptions.
Kind regards,

A similar idea that could address the need: https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308176-primo/suggestions/37746751-ability-to-examine-raw-data-of-a-pci-collection-fo

It would be helpful to have an API access to Primo Central Collections.
Collections need to be checked for quality issues e.g. resource types contained. Its important to understand the density, language, and formatting of metadata before a collection is activated in production. Metadata experts could then assess the quality of a collection more easily. The method would be also more reliable and convenient than checking (some) examples via the Primo frontend. -

Being able to review sample metadata is a critical need for us.

Yes, please, include metadata in any previews!! Metadata is one of the essential factors in our decision process.

One addition to this that would be very useful for us is to include some sample PNX. We are often choosing between publisher supplied metadata, WorldCat KB Collection Set records, Alma CKB and Primo Central Index. Being able to see some sample metadata associated with the PCI collection would help us greatly in determining which metadata stream to use for a particular collection
