← Have an idea for Ex Libris?

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).


How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s).
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.


The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category. The ideas for new providers will be annually prioritized via the CERV process.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

**Please be aware that ideas with no comments or votes for the past three years, and have less than 30 votes, will be closed. The closed ideas will still be available for review, and the votes will be freed up for supporting other content ideas.

How can we improve Content?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

    Unfortunately, the provider will not share metadata with us, so we will be unable to create a collection other than the Torrossa one.

  5. Pearson EBS

    Pearson has three new EBS packages, a German one, an English one and a combined one. Pearson was not added in the past because ExLibris couldn't get title lists. There are title lists for the EBS packages (see attached). So far there is not a single Pearson collection in the CZ. Please add at least one.

  7. Add a Can-Core Academic Video collection

    Can you please investigate adding Can-Core Academic Video to the CZ.

    Can-Core includes thousands of current and relevant Canadian videos. This streaming platform features quality programming from many of Canada's top filmmakers. Includes an Indigenous content search.

  8. Please add backlist collections for Boydell & Brewer from De Gruyter

    Community zone only has 2024 and 2024 complete ebook collections from De Gruyter for Boydell & Brewer. Please add the backlist years, at least going back to 2000. The ebooks are live on the De Gruyter platform.

    Please add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index) a collection that corresponds to the current Emerald collection "Library & Information Sciences" (16 journals).
    The collection "Emerald Library Studies" (613720000000001716) is inappropriate, as it contains discontinued titles that are no longer offered to new customers.

    Elsevier EM Premium was created as a zero-title database in all 3 Knowledgebases and will be available for SFX users after the July 6th release.

    Unfortunately, we were unable to obtain CDI metadata.

  11. Brepols Open Access eBooks

    Brepols Publishing publishes open access ebooks and it would be useful to make them discoverable via Primo VE. Alma’s Community Zone does not have a distinct collection for this content.   12. HeinOnline ACUS

    Please add: Administrative Conference of the United States.
    May warrant inclusion in existing CZ collection: "U.S. Federal Agency Documents, Decisions, and Appeals" (611000000000001828). We recently received a notice from Hein saying that ACUS was now included in our Federal Agency subscription. Did an overlap analysis of ACUS titles with our existing activations (including Federal Agency) and there's about 60% coverage of the ACUS titles in Federal Documents. Rather than load the missing set from WorldShare, it'd be easier to just have the ACUS titles fed into 611000000000001828.
