  1. Usability of Favorites especially in LTI view - Suggest from right panel

Using the LTI view the left menu (Lists and Favorites) is invisible which confines the view to the context of the LMS site the user is in. I can see why we would want to do that. However, it has the effect of making it virtually impossible for educator or student to be able to use their favorites.

Scenario: Educator adds a citation to their list in the LTI view, then decides it is so good they want to add it to their other lists. They copy it to their favorites.... then what! (They could just copy to other lists,…

  2. Make the template wizard accessible

Make the template wizard in the new UI accessible at any point during the creation of the list, not just at the initial setup stage. This would mean that if the list creator removed everything from their list to start again, or wanted to have merged templates (ie a week by week and a bibliography) they wouldn't have to create every section individually from that point.

  3. Scheduling the dates of visibility of citations/attachments in NUI

We want to limit the dates between which citations or attachments can be viewed/downloaded. This is available in the classic interface but not in the new one.

It is usefulI when you (librarian or instructor) want to prepare the complete reading list at the beginning of the course, to set the dates on which citations/attachments will be made visible to users. This is good when your course works with case studies in a big way, for example.
In this situation, or similar, it is important because you are working with materials which students have to download and you don't want…

  4. Add Workflow Notes to Reading List Citation Slips

Currently, Reading list citation slips are not configured to include Workflow Notes, which means processing instructions are not included on the pull slips and that information must be retrieved separately. It would expedite reading list processing to have Workflow Notes included in these slips (which currently include basic bibliographic information, call number, and bar code).

  5. A designated field for E-locators in citations

We would like a separate field for e-locators in Leganto citations.

The publisher's use of this identifier is increasingly common, and included in several reference styles, such as APA. Today, the e-locator appears in the page number field, which can be confusing. The field should also be included in the export to RIS and to reference managers like Endnote.

A designated e-locator field would also be useful for Primo displays.

  7. Remove the fields "Required Chapters" and "Total Chapters Count" from the Copyright Attributes page when Book Extract is the citation materi

Our Copyright Officer has informed the library to make a change in how we label our representations and to use Book Extract as the citation material type if only a few pages of a chapter are being used. This is a change for the library as we previously used Book Chapter and labelled the representation to indicate that only a part of the chapter has been used - example: Scan of chapter 3 [in part], p. 26-35: Moral constraints and the state.

This is to ensure that the two fields are not accidently used by Library staff.

  8. Option to exclude facets when searching the library

When adding a reference from the library search, you can filter based on "Type" and "Available here" facets in Leganto. This is great, but it would also be helpful if you could exclude facets as well, like you can in Primo. For instance, if you don't want Open Access records you should be able to exclude them. The "Type" facets are usually mutually exclusive (so isn't as relevant to exclude), but this is not true for the "Available here" facets. References can for instance be both "Open access" and "Peer reviewed" at the same time.

    Our specific use case is…

  9. More file type options for Reading List bulk export

At the moment it's possible to bulk export Reading Lists by running the job called 'Reading List Bulk Update' and selecting 'Export to PDF'.

Would be beneficial if we can export to other types such as .lgn or .ris. As those files would serve better as 'baclups' and can also be imported back into Leganto

  10. Create a configuration option that allows due back date to default to be empty instead of course end date

We don't remove things from physical reserves at the end of the term automatically. We wish to be able to have reading lists default to an empty due back date. Currently we have to create a set and run a bulk update job to clear the due back date because it defaults to the end of the term.

We propose a new configuration option somewhere that allows institutions to choose whether due back date defaults to the end of term, or whether it defaults to an empty value.

  11. Broken link/problem files resolution inside NUI

I see there is consultation arising from NERS results about the broken link report emails (to library, an alert that a report has been made and to users, a resolution notice).

It made me think there is an opportunity in the new UI to streamline the link/file fixing process.

    • When a library team member is signed in to Leganto could broken links/problem file reports be indicated in the notifications area to identify affected lists - not just the assigned librarian, but any library team member with course reserves roles?
    • Could an affected citation have a indicator appear to identify which…

  12. My Collection > Increase limit

The current limit of items you can have in your Leganto Collection is 1000.

Would be good if we can increase it (or have it configurable) as we have academics wishing to export all their reading list/citations into their Collection from their previous institutions, and sometimes they exceed the limit

  13. Set Task List "Unassigned - List with new Note to zero

We are starting to manage our 'Unassigned - List with new note' task which had not previously been dealt with in our workflow. The notes all say "Comment: List was published List status: Ready For Processing" even though the lists are completed. The list is quite large even though the lists have been completed.

Apparently there is no way to automatically clear this task and set it to zero. The Ex Libris support team agree that this would be a useful enhancement and suggest this enhancement suggestion.

I guess there may be other tasks that could be managed in this…

  14. Upload one file per page range allowed

Some material types like book chapter or book extracts, allow to have two page ranges.
However, it is only possible to upload one file.

The page range data from the citation is used in our copyright platform integration, and PDF files are created based on this data, that is, one per page range. Having to merge the files before uploading them is unnecessary extra work so we would like to be able to upload several files per citation (1 per page range).

  15. Suggest Replacement feature - Handling citations with specific tags during course dates

If the citation has a specific tag (7 Day, Reserve, etc. as defined by the institution), the course has started and the suggestion was approved:
    1. Mark the citation as ready for processing (or status of the choice of the institution)
    2. Add a citation task-list alert in Alma that the suggestion was approved
This would allow staff to identify citations that needed action due to the new edition (e.g. copies need to be moved to high demand locations)

  16. Suggest Replacement feature - keep book extract or chapter information

When using the Suggest Replacement feature for book extract or chapter citations, the data in the chapter and/or page range fields should be kept (rather than automatically deleted) if the suggestion is approved. When the suggestion is approved either from Leganto or Alma there should be an alert (like a pop-up box) to notify the user they may need to check the chapter/page range details on the suggested replacement.

Alternatively, the user could be presented with an option to decide whether the chapter/extract information is kept or overwritten.

  17. Add information on reading list creation to Alma Analytics

We would like to have more information about how a reading list was created in order to trouble-shoot issues. Could you please add fields to Analytics on whether the list was created via rollover, via the Duplicate option or by New List button, and whether in Leganto or Alma.

  18. Confirmation screen when adding citation to Leganto from Primo

When adding a catalog citation to Leganto from the Primo interface (via the "Send To..." menu) there is a small popup (screenshot attached) that asks the user to choose a list, section, etc. and then click the green "Add to Leganto" button, which is great. Once this button is clicked, the page reloads and the user receives no confirmation, other than to open a new tab, navigate to the relevant list, and verify that the citation appeared in the right place. Instead, once the user clicks "Add to Leganto," would it be possible to have a similarly sized pop up…

  19. Shareable link function in the Leganto file viewer

In the Leganto PDF viewer there is no option to create a shareable link to the citation.

Problem: The educator or another student wants to share a link direct to the viewer (e.g. Hi students, add your comments on this file), they can only get the URL from the browser address bar. This URL does not support SAML authentication. They do not understand the implications of doing this, and will not go back to the other tab to get a shareable link - indeed they may have closed the other tab.

    1. User may end up at the Leganto authentication page…

  20. Editor button integration: show requirement to choose bibliography style

When selecting a citation using the editor button, the Add button does not work until a bibliography style is selected from the drop-down menu. For the new user, this can be confusing. It needs a visual indicator of some kind, such as prompt text in the box or an error message. Ideally, there would be default as there is for the link text, and it would be "sticky" -- remembering the user's last selection.
