  1. Collection Discovery usage in Primo Analytics

Currently, Analytics possibilities for "Collection Discovery" are rather limited. With action “Display a Collection”, you can for example see how many times your collections (all together) have been displayed, added to favorites... in a period of time, but you cannot see which collections are the most and the less successful, what materials should maybe be more promoted, which collection should maybe be removed because its content is maybe of too little interest, which collections are added to favorites, etc.

Therefore, we would like Collection IDs and Collection Names to be transferred to Primo Analytics. Additionally, if this could also be…

  2. Primo Analytics - Add Actions for clicks on View It links, for both Link in Record and Link Resolver

There is a significant gap in Analytics recorded actions for user engagement with electronic resources directly in our Primo environment.

In Classic UI, this was partially possible by GetIt Link 1 and GetIt Link 2 actions, but invoked by a user clicking on the Get It tab, rather than an actual link.

This aspect is not even possible in New UI with a known gap for years for these GetIt actions.
Link Resolver Usage data is partially recorded in Alma Analytics, dependent on configuration.
This situation of data loss will be even more of an issue on CDI, with the…

Please note that with the August release we have added more actions to help tracking view it links usage.

Just to clarify - In August 2022 we've added actions for “Additional Link to source”, “Additional openURL” (not relevant for Alma URLs), "Link to source" and "OpenURL FT" (not relevant for Alma URLs) - all sent when coming from ViewIt.

  3. Primo Analytics - add the ability to generate Primo Send To menu Citation Style usage

Idea: Add the ability to generate usage statistics for each of the Citation Styles which display in the Primo Send to menu.

Currently it is possible to report on the number of times the Citation option is selected from the Primo Send to menu.

However it is not possible to track usage for each of the citation styles e.g. APA, Harvard, Oxford, etc.

    Use case:

The ability to track usage for each style to:

    • Determined the order of citation styles in the display (from most popular to least popular).
    • To determine which options should continue be offered to our patrons…

Thank you for this idea. Primo Analytics now tracks the number of times each citation style is clicked by its  position in the Citation action
Please refer to Support Usage Information for the Order of Citation Styles in Primo February release notes, coming soon in Primo VE March.

  4. Better analytics for resource recommender to tell how many times recommendation is triggered and how often it is clicked

The resource recommender can be a very new tool to help improve the user experience of searchers.

However without proper analytics it is hard to tell if all the effort done to create them have had an impact.

Hence it would be helpful to have data like

    Analytics that tell staff

    a) How often a recommendation is triggered or most common recommendations shown
    b) How often a recommendation is clicked

  5. Inclusion of New UI Top Banner links in Primo Analytics Action Usage Report

We would like the links on the Links Menu that appear in the banner at the top of the screen in the new UI to be harvested into Primo Analytics and to be included in the Primo Action Usage Report. Ideally we would like usage information to be harvested for both links created by ExLibris (such as Tags, Browse etc) and also links that we have added to the menu (for example a link to our LibGuide).

Obtaining usage information for these links will not only be very useful in determining which links we include in the top banner but…

  6. API for Primo Analytics

Idea: ExLIbris to provide an API for access Primo Analytics in a similar manner as Alma Analytics API

Reason: Without an automated way to extract data from Primo Analytics the usefulness of Primo Analytics is greatly reduced.

We need the ability to extract data from Primo Analytics reports via an API so we can use this data in other ways. Such as importing into other reporting systems (databases, BI tools, etc.. ), merging with out Library/University data/reports, etc..

Any new ExLibris product should provide an API as a standard, from initial release.

    Cheers
