Option to publish new set with Publishing Profiles
Currently, when you change the set in a publishing profile, the previous set is first published as deleted, and then the new set is published by the job. This behavior means that we have to duplicate an existing publishing profile each time we want to publish a new set with an existing publishing profile in order to get a "clean" output and to avoid overly long processing times publishing the old set as deleted. This results in the needless duplication of institutional publishing profiles and extra staff time to duplicate the publishing profiles to publish new sets. The current publishing…
46 votesAfter modifying the set, you should run the 'Republish > Rebuild Entire Index' action to reset the set being used. This ensures the publishing process doesn't rely on the profile execution history.

Greater functionality for the Manage Deleted Repository Function
The other day I accidentally deleted several thousand portfolios that should not have been deleted. When I went to the "Manage Deleted Repository" functionality to restore them I found I could only restore them one by one. There was no option to mark multiple items on a page or to restore a page of items at a time. There was no option to reverse the job. This shows a remarkable lack of sophistication and is quite simply unacceptable in a modern LSP

De-normalize http & https in searches for urls in Alma
Alma has normalized http & https searching so that it will not distinguish between either in a repository search. Proposing this not be normalized as these are an important part of a URL and need to be found, separate from each other.

Have MMS IDs show up in list view
At present, from a search results list, each title must be clicked for one to find the MMS ID for a title. It would be really helpful if the ID numbers could show up on the front page for quick reference.

The cataloging level of a record changes to the level of the user editing the record when the record is saved. Add option to disable this.
The cataloging level of a record changes to the level of the user editing the record when that record is saved. Please add an option to disable this feature. If a higher level cataloger wants to up the cataloging level on a record, they can do it manually. We're in a consortial environment, and this feature causes much frustration for our member libraries.

Add members to set from results screen
We would like an easier way of adding individual titles to itemized sets. It would be nice if, on the results screen after performing a search, you could click the ellipses menu for more options and see "Add to set" there, which would then direct you to select a set to which you'd like to add that record.

This functionality is supported in Alma's new search UX.

New UI-Call Number as an option in the search customization
In the old UI when conducting a search the call number would display in the search results. In the new UI each individual title now has to have the physical title clicked on to see the call number. It would be helpful to have a call number option under the customization options so that it would eliminate all of the unnecessary clicking when trying to view call numbers during a search.

Title starts with search in Advanced Search
Change "Title Starts With" search in Advanced Search
There are situations when it's easier or more efficient to search by the beginning of the title. However, the “Title Starts With:” search in Advanced Search in Alma requires the user to know whether the title begins with an article (A, An, The) or not, and if so, which article it begins with. So users are expected to remember if a title begins with "A", "The", or no initial article in order to perform the search successfully. Why not just return both results, and let the user decide, instead of forcing them…
145 votesDear all, the title starts-with search was already updated to take non-filing characters into account, allowing librarians to search with or without them.
If for some reason you're not seeing this behavior in your environment, please open a support case with examples so this can be investigated.

Search call number into "All titles", "Physical items"
The call number is not indexed for the indices "All titles" and "Physical items". We would like to search call numbers in this indices without more clicks.
1 voteThis is available as part of the physical titles search, which is accessible in both the simple search and the advanced search.

Link to view record in Primo from Alma
When viewing a bibliographic record in Alma, we would like a link to appear that opens a new browser tab/window showing the record in Primo. For example, the MMSID could be hyperlinked, which would then perform a search for the record in Primo. This would enable quick identification of publishing problems between Alma and Primo as well as testing record display in Primo.

Truncate titles, etc. when searching
Truncated searching would save a lot of keystokes. It would also save a lot of typing when you misspelled something and then have to retype the entire title again. Typing in the exact title when it may be very long or a little bit different from what you remember takes a lot of time. Allowing for a wildcard would allow better searching for plurals, different endings, etc.
