  1. Analytics Usage Subject Area

Provide a subject area that would support analysis of how much analytics is being used. For example, how many analytics reports are run in a given month.

  2. Mask patron addresses and phone numbers at Institution level

Mask patron addresses and phone numbers at Institution level

Patron addresses and phone numbers are always treated as confidential information and our library would like to take every measure possible to protect privacy of our library users. Currently, Ex Libris has anonymization option for patron addresses and phone numbers only at Network level and not at institution level. We would like Ex Libris to include the option also at institution level.

  3. Autosave files to .txt

File save options limited to .csv We have various local processing jobs that need .txt files for input, which means we have to rename the exports from Analytics before making use of the files. Offer other standard file extensions to Analytics

  4. Add Electronic collection life cycle in analytics

Bibliogrpahic records, portfolios, etc. have life cycle but not electronic collections. My project is to identify electronic collections that do not have portfolios, but the report also includes collections that have already been deleted. So adding the life cycle to electronic collections will be very useful.

  5. Extend time before analytics times out

Whenever I am working on an analytic report, it often takes hours. But after a few minutes, if I do not go back to Alma to do a fake search to refresh its link to analytics, analytics would time out.

Can you extend the time to at least an hour before analytics times out?

  6. po line notes

For the PO Line area, I would like to see the Notes. Right now only the Receiving Note and the Note to vendor are visible in Analytics, but I need the Notes cause we have stored a lot of additional information in the Notes

  7. Enhance Cost Per Use reports

It would be really good if we could customise the Cost Per Use reports to better reflect the data each institution might want to collect. For example, they might need the cost data to be based on invoice subscription dates rather than fiscal year paid. Another example is wanting to calculate on usage on a specific platform rather than combined usage across all platforms.

In August 2019 we officially released a new Cost Per Use structure integrated into the E-Inventory subject area with special consideration for determining the COUNTER platform in the Cost Per Use. On August 13th we had two world wide webinars (for different time zones) explaining the new feature. This was developed together with a group of early testers and development partners via a Basecamp group that met regularly, consisting of 17 librarians from 11 institutions. This also includes the fund information in the e-inventory subject area as requested in ideas exchange with 174 votes https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308173-alma/suggestions/19256761-in-analytics-add-fund-information-to-e-inventory-s

  8. In analytics, add usage data to the E-Inventory subject area

Now that counter usage is more fully available via Analytics (thank you!), it would be useful to have the following measures available in the E-Inventory subject area: Journal Usage (JR1), Whole Book Usage (BR1), Partial Book Usage (BR2), Media Usage (MR1).

  9. In Analytics add fund information to e-inventory subject area. This needs to be available at both the collection and portfolio levels.

The e-inventory subject area needs fund information added to it at both the collection and portfolio levels so users can write reports that show them how much they have paid for their e-inventory based on a given fiscal year and/or at the p o line level.

Completed as part of February Release.
The Cost Usage folder was added to the E-Inventory subject area. It enables you to create reports that display the cost per use for electronic resources.

  10. create out-of-box institutional standards reports (i.e., ACRL, IPEDS,ARL)

Since many institutions have to complete these standardized reports annually, it would be helpful if a template existed for each one so we wouldn't have to re-create them each year. As the reports are revised by the sponsoring organization/agency then Ex Libris can update the out-of-the-box report as part of the monthly features.

  11. way to report in Analytics for the POL Note

Need the ability to report in Analytics for the POL Note. We would like to be able to pull a report for POLs which have a note.
The only POL note that I can find in Analytics is the Note to Vendor but the notes we are adding are not in this field.

  12. Add POL Access Provider to Analytics

Quite frequently we purchase our resources through a third party vendor, e.g. Ebsco, but the access provider is different, e.g. Taylor & Francis. It would be really useful to be able to view the Access provider information in Analytics as well as the vendor information. Currently we can only see the vendor information.

  13. Need a way to retrieve HOLDINGS where there are no ITEMS associated with the holding

Currently, there is no good way in either Advanced Repository search or Analytics to retrieve Holdings records that do not have items attached. The "has no inventory" indexing only returns bibs with no holdings, not holdings with no items. In order to have the holdings fields exposed to the Repository Search, you must select either Physical Title or Physical Item, which then only looks at records where there is an associated item record.

The same seems to be true in analytics. I can create an analysis using the Titles table and filter to "Number of Physical Items (All) = 0",…

  14. Add a week key to dates eg request dates

We would like to be able to look at physical item requests by week, but can only currently do it by month. Could a week key be added to analytics?

In the ideas exchange " Add a week key to dates eg request dates" You ask:
We would like to be able to look at physical item requests by week, but can only currently do it by month. Could a week key be added to analytics?

    We answer:
This can be done using the “Request Date Week Number” in the Requests Subject Area.
This field did not exist in 2017 when you opened the ideas Exchange.

  15. Analytics reports by journal title for resource sharing borrowing requests

Our subject librarians have requested that they would like to be able to run reports in Alma Analytics by journal title for resource sharing borrowing requests. When title is selected in Analytics, it only provides the article title but we would like the journal title. Is this possible already or is it something that is planned for inclusion in future?

As part of the November release the Journal Title field was added to the following locations:
Borrowing Requests > Borrowing Request Details
Lending Requests > Lending Request Details

  16. Searchable invoice notes

Add the capability for analytics and/or sets to generate a report based upon the note field. I have not been able to easily extract invoice notes from Alma. This would allow acquisitions departments to extract useful invoice data that may be unique to their institution. Also, if a library has Alma directly connected to an external payment system error reports will generate within the invoice note field. Having a way to easily extract these note through a report feature would be beneficial.

    Hello,

We are happy to inform the community that the Funds Expenditure subject area now includes the invoice general note.

The new field - Invoice-General Note - appears in the Invoice line folder.

    Regards,

    Hadas

  17. Include Brief Levels in Analytics

Our library uses Brief Levels to initially 'sort' newly received print materials, primarily those with records that come via our import profiles.

We'd like to be able to get regular reports and statistics that count how many records were assigned each Brief Level so that we can determine the general quality of records as well as make decisions surrounding whether our Brief Level rules need to be adjusted.

Currently, we can only search Brief Levels using the Repository Search, but it can be cumbersome to do it for each individual brief level for every import.

  18. Add holdings / suppressed from discovery data to Analytics physical items SA

I'd like to be able to exclude any suppressed holdings from my analyses. I see the "suppressed from discovery" data point for bibliographic records, but not for holdings.

The “Holding Details” folder of the “Physical Items” subject area includes the following two fields and therefore fulfills the requirements of this ideas exchange:
    ’Suppressed from discovery"
’Suppressed from discovery by suppressed location"

  19. enable more than 5 Local fields in Analytics

You can have up to 100 local field 9xx but can only publish to analytic 5 at the time, please add the option to publish all fields to analytic and if there is a problem to publish them all, enable to publish at list 25 local fields.
Also give the option to decide which fields you want to publish to the customer and not through Exlibris SF case.

  20. Analytics: Add ability to search/filter by the Holdings record suppression tag

A Suppress from Discovery flag exists for both the Bibliographic and the Holdings record, but only the Bib flag is present in Analytics. This field should be added [and is yet another example of how poorly Analytics handles Holdings data as opposed to Bibliographic or Item data]
