  1. Enhance Alma to offer notes that are displayed for electronic resources to every user, campus member or non-campus member

    We would like a way to display local holdings information on Primo for ebooks held by libraries from individual campuses.

    We are 1 institution of Alma but have a number of libraries linked to Campuses across the institution.

    Some of these campuses have their own local subscriptions to ebooks and we are unbale to display this information on Primo.

    We have tried using the public note from the Notes field in the Electronic Portfolio Editor but this only displays when a patron from that Campus is logged in (we use OpenAthens to authenticate).

  2. Have the System Job Notification return a list of barcodes to show which items were skipped when running a job on an itemised (itemized) set

    Use case: As part of our workflow we have to add a fulfilment note and an internal note to items in an itemised set. When creating the text for Internal Note 3, we specify that it only be done if the field is empty (so as not to overwrite an existing instruction, because there is no way currently to ADD text to an already-populated field).   3. Make barcodes display on first reference in a title with fewer clicks.

    Barcodes are used by staff to ensure we pick correct title. Please make it easier to find these without multiple clicks. Display full barcode, not part of it that you have to click or hover over to get. We use these for so many things. They should be easier to find in Alma with a minimal of clicks!

  4. Bulk reassignments of reading lists and "assigned to" features.

    We would like to be able to select by check box multiple reading lists or select all to reassign them instead of having to reassign each one manually. If a staff member leaves, everything needs to be reassigned to the replacing staff.

  5. Prevent notices from being sent when using "return items" - have notices sent to users only after using "Scan In"

    Once we switch from the classic to the new UI, we've discovered that when we check items in using "return items" hold notices are sent to patrons automatically. Previously, notices were not triggered until we used the "Scan In" option. The item location would appear as "on the holdshelf" regardless, so this is just about notices only. Since there may be reasons why an item may not be ready for patron use (e.g., missing parts / damages / repairs needed, etc), we'd like to have the ability to address those issues before the patron is informed that an item is…

  7. Automatically populate Material Type and Terms of use dropdowns in request forms

    In the physical request form in Primo it is common for there to be a single value in the Material Type and Terms of Use dropdowns. It is common for users to click on these dropdowns to see what the options are only to find there is only a single value to choose from.

  8. Provide Configuration Options for Lost Item Replacement Fee TOU Precedence in Alma

    Some items have price information in the record, and some do not. Rather than delete all price info or try to add it to each record, our library would like the option to force the system to defer to the Lost Item Replacement Fee (LIRF) stored in the Fulfillment TOUs over the item price in the record (if one exists).     When a fulfillment request is cancelled, it should specify who cancelled it e.g. patron via Primo (incl. name), librarian, other and not just "System".

  10. Add an internal note to the list of available Quick Cataloging fields

    Circ Desk staff should be able to "leave a note" for Resource Management when adding an item using Quick Cataloging. We would like to use a note for Circ Desk staff to initial the item records they worked on, and also to let RM know of anything unusual they notice or questions they have about the piece.

    Right now, the only note field available during Quick Cataloging is the public note, which isn't appropriate for this kind of thing. At least one of the item internal notes should be available for this.

  11. Move the cursor for expired patron pop up

    When a patrons account has expired the location of the cursor on the blocked account pop-up window is 'Renew'. The default location of the cursor should be moved to Cancel or OK as it's too easy to hit enter and renew the account accidentally. Renewing an account should be a chosen action, not the default

    In the Manage Patron Services, it would be very helpful to be able to configure templates that are used when an operator selects "Create item". Then we can only display the fields that are necessary and leave out fields that are unnecessary for that moment.c

  13. Register Multiple In House Uses for a single item with one scan

    Often our librarians bring a book into a class so that students can use it to work on an assignment. Afterwards, we want to record that it has been used in house multiple times. Can you add a functionality to the Scan In Items screen so that you can scan an item once, but have it register multiple in house uses?

  14. Immediate availablity of new TOU from Fulfillment Units Rule Screen

    When creating a new Fulfillment Unit Rule, we have the opportunity to create a new TOU in that screen. However, when we hit save the TOU is not immediately made available for use in the drop down menu.

    It would be very beneficial if the newly created TOU was immediately available in the drop down after we hit save. Currently, we have to cancel the Fulfillment Unit Rule we are working on and restart it in order to have the new TOU available as a choice.

  15. Remove option to 'Renew' offered in a "Due Loans Letter" generated by a patron request.

    Option to Renew is confusing to patrons who are denied when they try to renew a recalled item. Better not to offer, or appear to offer, it in a recall generated by a patron request.

  16. General hold request only to display for journals

    Currently, the General hold request (GHR) is triggered based on whether or not at least one item on the holding has a description in the item description field.
    We would like to change the trigger to target specifically series, as many of our items have descriptions without being a journal issue. As criteria, the bibliographic level of the bib record (=s) could serve.
    The GHR would then only appear for actual journals.

  17. Add Date Due column to patron Fines record

    When a patron questions their fine, I would like to be able to show them: your book was due on this date (date due) and returned on this date (Discharge date found under the comments column). I've already found the Columns list, but Due Date isn't in there. I've also checked with Basecamp and it was suggested I send this in to Ideas Exchange. Thanks!

    When handling requests it would be timesaving to have patrons preferred Language visible as well as if you need to contact the user.   19. Automatic request not filled notification for on loan items which are requested but not returned without cancelling the request

    If a user places a request for an item currently on loan to another user and the requested item is not returned there should be an option to notify the requester that the request is not going to be fulfilled without using the cancel request function and disassociating the user's request from the item.

  20. Configure better functionality (letters and fining) to calculate a new due date for an overdue item when it has been recalled

    In an institution where we do not use automated renewals, we encounter instances where patron 1 has an item and allowed it to get overdue but it is then recalled. The letter that goes out does not use our configurations to calculate a new due date from the date of the request and it starts to calculate fines immediately. This causes much patron distress as they can't go back into the past to return the item, nor are they informed that there might be a grace period to return the item.
