Submitting requests via Alma using DOI
Currently, Rapid accepts requests from Alma with ISSN / ISBN and OCLC number. It should also be possible to submit requests that only have a DOI.
We are reviewing as a potential enhancement to the borrowing request insert process

This discussion on enabling DOI-based requests in Alma for RapidILL integration is incredibly valuable, as it highlights a crucial enhancement for library workflows. I believe that expanding metadata augmentation—perhaps by integrating creative digital tools like https://wigglypaint.online , which offers a free online animation drawing platform—could further streamline research and resource sharing. Additionally, adopting modern design standards such as https://liquid-glass.io , inspired by Apple’s newly introduced Liquid Glass design language, may improve user experience within library systems. Lastly, leveraging AI-powered image generation tools like https://fluxkrea.design (Create Photorealistic Images Free) could enhance visual content management in academic platforms.

Note that when a request is placed in Alma (and then pushed to Rapid), if the PMID or DOI is included, additional metadata automatically augments the request. The following fields are automatically populated:
-Article Title
-Journal Title
-Author
-Volume
-Issue
-ISSN
-Pages
-Start Page
-End Page
-Publication DateThis depends on the Augmentation Integration Profile set up.
