How can we improve Esploro?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.

  1. Esploro Portal – add Labels for all title pages

    We want to be able to configure title pages for every page in the Esploro portal using a label. A title page is what we see when we hover over the browser’s tab. Currently, there is only a label for the main title page.

    Dear Colleagues, 


    This idea was open for a very long time yet it has not gotten many votes. Due to other priorities, it is not likely that it will be developed in the near future and I am closing the idea.

  2. Esploro Portal - Enhance color settings

    We would like to have one of the following options:
    1. Enhance the color setting options available in the admin panel, allowing complete color control in the portal
    2. Allow uploading a CSS/SASS file that will overwrite the preset CSS/SASS settings

    Dear Colleagues, 


    Thank you for your input. It was decided that Esploro will not support CSS changes. In addition, we do not have plans to enhance the branding color options in the near future. 

    Due to these reasons I am closing this idea.

  3. Resize the asset’s title in the portal

    The Asset’s title takes a lot of the Asset’s page real estate in the portal.
    We request an option to resize the title or that the title size be appropriately responsive to screen size.
    The existing title size is 40.5px. It uses 30% of the screen area
    This is a serious problem on small screens like laptops.
    On a phone, this title uses HALF of the screen OR MORE!
    Please see the attached examples.

    This enhancement is not a something that we are going to pursue in the near future in Esploro so I am closing this idea for now. If this continues to be an issue for you please contact the Esploro Product Team.

  4. Allow records from Alma and records from esploro to be part of the same collection in Primo

    In Alma we can group records into Collections (Inventory -> Manage Collections).
    The collections are presented in Primo.
    Esploro records are also displayed in our Primo. We want to be able to attach records from Esploro to display in a collection together with Alma records.

    Scenario:
    The "Science Teaching" department asked us to create a collection for them in Primo. They would like to see in this collection publications of their scientists (coming from Esploro) along with books and journals published by them (which are coming from Alma - physical and digital items).

  5. Esploro's | Customization of the Home page and Portal

    The CSS/JS load Idea was closed - https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/929326-esploro/suggestions/42304072-esploro-portal-and-home-page?tracking_code=c69bab7468ff8e896a94196d9e242aba
    and proposed to open the new Idea
    If there is specific functionality or customization option that we think we should add to Esploro, We have to open a dedicated idea for this idea and Ex Libris will be happy to evaluate it.

    Dear colleagues

    This ticket includes a list of features, and it's impossible for us to distinguish the relevant ones and to prioritize.

    For this, here's the current status of the requested features, now that the new portal was launched, we're closing this ticket.

    For features that are still needed, please open a separate idea (one per feature)


    Home page and Portal:
    Width of the page – done – increased page width – configuration is not available
    Tabs– can be configured
    Headers– can be configured
    Font colors - can be configured
    Background colors - can be configured


    On the Portal
    Logo size– not available (you can load an image with a different scale though)
    Header height – changed, but not configurable.  background-color – can be configured

  6. Add the ability to view Publishing Information to Esploro research assets

    For Alma physical, electronic and digital records there is the option for administrators to view the Publishing information.
    This functionality does not exist for Esploro Research Assets.
    Can the ability to view publishing information for Research Assets be added to help enable troubleshooting.
