Allow users to choose whether they are searching for exact match or contains. So I could say that I want to search for people with the name Boe and it either return only exact matches or any name that contains boe.

This is supported when searching profiles. You can search Thom* which will return all names containing the name Thom, Thoms, Thomas, etc.
Or, if you search "Thom" in quotations this will be a search of only those names that contain Thom.
