Fix bug when importing references and choosing destination folder
There seems to be a bug in the new feature that allows you to choose a destination folder when importing a new reference. The first time I use it, it works well and I can choose from the drop-down menu. The second time (and every time after that), when I click the drop-down menu, none of my folders show up. I have to click through and import it, then assign a folder after the fact. Very frustrating because it works the first time!

I'm not a reference builder app - you figure it out.
I don't know how to fix it - that's your job. However, I'm Frustrated that it's a download from GCU but it only works correctly about 60% of the time and I'm not including PDFs in this which, of course, are not supported. I'm about to go back to using a different citation generator. If I wanted to repeatedly build my own citations, I wouldn't need RefWorks, right?

Limit record
is it possible to limit the import records from Libraries databases (like in the old release)?
it could be important to have limits of 20-50-100- 200 records per search.

Citation optimization
Right now, the problem for me with RefWorks is that it does far too many things automatically. At my university, we have our own rules of the citation which have to do with the rules of Dutch grammar. e.g. We write titles and subtitles as sentences, meaning that only the first letter of the first word per sentence is capitalized. The exception is of course for names, place names, historical events, etc. (each of these depending on the local spelling & grammar rules). While we want as much information as possible to be automated, it's very unhandy to automate the…

Adding a URL/ DOI at the appropriate times, depending on the source
We tell students that when they access one of our databases and export to RefWorks, then they can treat the journal article as a print copy – i.e. they don’t need to put the URL or the date they accessed it – see 1st ref example. If they get an article from Google Scholar, then they need to add the URL and the date they accessed it – see 2nd ref example.

Import full date when importing newspaper articles from proquest historical newspapers database
When importing citations from Proquest historical newspaper database, only the year is imported. This isn't satisfactory for creating notes/bibliographies including newspapers, which typically require mm/dd/yyyy information.

Capture PMID from CINAHL records upon import
EBSCO has isolated the PMID in as a piece of data in their CINAHL records; however, this doesn’t appear to be captured in an import into RefWorks. Please capture this item when available in CINAHL records.

Provide automatic doi insertion in new Refworks
In the new Proquest Refworks the doi can only be inserted manually. In the legacy version this was uploaded automatically when importing references.
1 voteDOI is inserted automatically when available and when readable by the import filter. Please open a support case if you encountered cases where this did not happen: https://supportcase.exlibrisgroup.com/s/refworks

allow to search for citation using the URL field - not just the title field.
When a user is looking to manually build a citation, allow the lightening bolt tool to operate on the URL field rather than title of the document field. This is the standard in other Citation builders and students are often looking for it.

Allow Articles uploaded in Dropbox to automatically download in Refworks
Before finding out about Refworks, I had all of my articles saved in Dropbox under Dissertation Articles. I transferred them all to the new RefWorks folder in my Dropbox but I don't see them uploading into my Refworks project. I have a Chromebook so I can't click and drag the articles in there. There were over 100 articles in there. It will take me a while to transfer them myself.

How about actually uploading the right attachment? And populating the right citation information. I was up until 2am sorting out your mess!
When importing refereneces somehow, I have ended up with completely random refereneces in my list and then missing some important ones. I was up until 2am last night trying to sort out your mess but it is an impossible task when the link doesnt work/has not been populated. And all the citation information seems completely random, like I have ended up with someone elses's reference ! I will be writing a personal letter of thanks if I fail my assignment

Improve Import from old RefWorks
Please improve your import tool from the old RefWorks platform, as it does not import all references as it is now. I've tried multiple times in the last two years. I'm not switching to your RW platform, and keep using the old one because of this: I'm not willing to lose valuable references in the process.
1 voteIn the first half of 2020 we will be addressing some upgrade issues, primarily the mapping of fields. However all references can be imported when upgrading, either with the upgrade button (if enabled by institution) or by exporting from legacy and importing to (new) RefWorks. If not all references are importing, please open a support case at https://supportcase.exlibrisgroup.com/?product=Refworks

Clear last imported folder when a new import is made
In RefWorks original, when you import a reference set, the Last Imported folder was reset, so only that import is contained in the folder.
Now, "Last Imported" isn't last imported, it's ALL references imported in the last 30 days!
At best, it now requires the additional steps of selecting and clearing references from the so-called last imported folder before you import new references; and if you forget, the old references are left in with the new references, making it harder to work on only the new references.
If you insist on keeping it this way, then rename the folder "Recently…

Note: Last imported folder can be cleared anytime with one click of "Clear Last Imported".

importing names with 'foreign characters' such as ä, ö, å to be imported correctly.
at the moment, when there is an import of a 'foreign character' in a person's name, the letters do not get saved corrected. It would be good to include the import without manual changes. Note, this does not happen all of the time, it does happen frequently though.

Please negate the need for Refworks to require a new tab and login when I export new references from my Institution's database.
I would like all my exported references to default to the Refworks database I already have open at the time.
Each time I export a new reference into Refworks, I am asked to login again which results in multiple Refworks tabs open.61 votesAfter investigation we determined this is not possible to change as each database sets own link targets on their own sites, resulting in RefWorks being open in separate tab. With multiple tabs, references are imported independently and are not overwritten.

Provide the ability to add different reference types to an existing style
There are new forms of information all the time and students are referencing increasingly varied things in their assignment. It would be useful if we could add new reference types to our institutional referencing style to cover these things.

March 23, 2019. Refresh is agonizing slow, database is practically useless in this condition. Will not import an APA reference from from Google Scholar. You need to fix this.
