OECD iLibrary going Open Access
I sent this to the Content email listserv. And reply from Elizabeth York.
Thanks for consideration.
Hi Denise,
Thanks for reminding us of OECD's switch to OA! If OECD wants to provide entirely new collection files to KB vendors, they could, and Ex Libris could load them, but based on the information provided by OECD, I am not sure whether that's necessary; it sounds like the content is not changing, but it is switching to OA. Assuming all the OECD content continues to be available at the same links, we could possibly simply remove our authentication methods (service-level proxying, in our case) from the OECD collections.
That being said, even if the existing collections continue to be used, there will be some CDI metadata updates Ex Libris will need to make around July 1. I did a quick CZ search for Electronic Collections with Interface Name oecd and came up with 31 total. If OECD intends to carry on with the existing collections, I see 5 are link in record, so Ex Libris will need to configure these so authentication is not applied to the link in record links, and I see several with "Full Text Rights in CDI: Subscription (Title Level)" fields that Ex Libris will need to switch from Subscription to Open Access.
I went ahead and filed an Ex Libris ticket, 07126481, letting them know OECD is switching to OA and asking them to work with OECD to make any changes necessary (whether that's loading new collections or updating the CDI metadata on existing collections). In general, reaching out to the vendor and/or Ex Libris Support can be really helpful in cases like this where there's a question about existing collections that are undergoing changes.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth

Subject: [Content-L] Alma CZ and OECD iLibrary going fully open access
Hello,
Are there any plans to add an open access version of “OECD iLibrary Books Complete” or “OECD Periodicals” to the Alma CZ?
One of our member libraries alerted me that OECD plans to make their content freely available as of July 1, 2024 see attached FAQ.
Is any open access version of existing OECD paid subscription e-collections in the works?
Currently in the Alma CZ there are these OECD iLibrary interface e-collections:

Hello,
Because this request is to adjust existing collections, please open a support ticket as this requires a different workflow.
Kind regards,
