Content

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).

How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s).
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.

The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

  4. American Pharmaceutical Association's (APhA's) 'PharmacyLibrary'

eBook collection that has a title list of approximately 100-150.

Our technical rep there said he is more than willing to work with Ex-Libris and already works with EBSCO to maintain a title-level list in EDS. I don't want to post his contact information here, but I will happily share it when this becomes planned/approved.

More information about this resource can be found here: http://pharmacylibrary.com/

  5. Index the Journal of Hospice and Palliative Nursing

The Summon indexing of this journal appears incomplete from 2009 to present. It's well used for courses, so it would be really helpful if it were fully indexed.

  11. Springer Protocols

Springer Protocols is available to select for Summon but only the whole database is on or off (you can't select a subset of subscribed titles). We subscribe to 4 specific subject modules so we would like additional databases specifically for each module to make it easy to just turn on the modules we have access to.

  12. Free or not free? Information in the weekly update emails

It would be very useful if you could include information on whether a collection is free or not when you send out the weekly Latest Alma CKB Update installed on the Alma Community Zone.

  13. Add Harvard University Press (DeGruyter) Ebook Collections to CZ

Could you please add each of the various Harvard University Press ebook packages as separate DeGruyter collections in the Community Zone? For example, complete Harvard collections by publication year, subject, archive, backlist, etc.

Currently, there’s only a “de Gruyter eBooks Complete” collection (50,403 titles) in the Community Zone that includes Harvard University Press titles so I had to manually select them within the larger collection.

It would be much easier if there were separate Harvard University Press ebook collections in the CZ.
