  1. Improve privacy of cookies

The Leganto teacher/student-facing interface currently uses OneTrust to request both Performance Cookies(1) and Targeting Cookies(2). Cookies default to 'on' unless the user clicks six different links / tabs / toggles / buttons to change this.

Please remove all the Targeting Cookie functionality. Your advertising partners should not have access to our students' use of reading lists in order to learn about their interests and advertise to them. This is unacceptable.

Please set Performance Cookies to default to 'off'. (I know OneTrust can do this because this is how cookies behave on the ProQuest Support site.)

  2. Allow libraries to customise Leganto-Rialto purchase workflow so that citation status auto-completes upon checkout

We would love to make use of the recently introduced 'rialtopurchasecomplete' parameter, where we can configure citation status to be automatically updated when the purchase workflow is complete. However, this workflow is only considered complete in the system when an ebook is activated or a print book has been receipted. We see the citation status as an indicator of tasks that need action, and once we have placed an order for a book, we have completed the action we needed to take and will immediately mark the citation as complete, regardless of the status of the order (this…

  3. Run Resource Locate process automatically upon purchase of an item

I would find it very useful if, after purchasing a book from a citation (via the 'Search in market' workflow in Alma/Rialto), the Resource Locate process would automatically run and update to indicate the new record in our repository. Currently this workflow links the order to the citation so it does reflect the inventory there, which is great, but it does not actually run the resource-locate, so this is something that has to be cleaned up manually to ensure the status is accurate and this field can be used consistently to indicate holdings.
We are short on staff/time and find…

  4. Improve searching for citations in Leganto list view

Searching for citations in Leganto can sometimes show inaccurate and unexpected results. For example, if someone tries to use "" to search for an exact phrase, it won't bring up results because "" isn't supported as a search operator. Or, if a book title has a special character - e.g.( /?/-/./( - in it, including that character in your search won't bring up the book. There is also no support for partial matching on words, e.g. "manage" won't bring up "management". This causes confusion for users if they don't understand why results are being affected and can't find resources. We…

  5. Allow for the ability to configure whether the "Import references" option appears at "Add" option in a Reading List.

We do not wish to expose the "import references" option when the "Add" option is chosen in a Reading List - this should be configurable as to whether a customer exposes this feature or not. We created a case (08053103) re same to which Support responded stating that "Currently, there is no option to hide the Import References from the Add menu".

  6. Leganto “Remove from my list” should not unenroll students from the Alma course (add hide only / disable options)

Don’t unenroll students when they click “Remove from my list” on course‑assigned lists

In Leganto, “Remove from my list” on a course‑assigned list published to “Course Students” unenrolls the student from the Alma course (by design; not configurable).
After that, students no longer see the list; the only way back is to access Leganto via the LMS LTI object, which re‑enrolls them.
This behavior is counter‑intuitive (looks like “hide” but performs enrollment changes) and creates access gaps and support overhead.
Current workaround is just renaming the label, which doesn’t fix the risk.
Request: Add configuration for course‑assigned lists: Hide‑only, or…

  7. All instructors to turn off replying function to their public annotations.

Many Instructors would like to use the public annotations to highlight specific sections of text, but don't wish for students to reply to their annotations, only to read them. By turning off the ability to reply, these annotations could then be rolled over without concern about rolling over student comments.

  8. Allow "on-the-fly" tagging by instructors

Many instructors want to group their readings in a variety of ways - by week, but also by category specific to the needs of the particular course. It would be very useful for instructors to be able to create and apply custom tags to citations and that they can reuses as they need without requiring the need for staff intervention on the Alma configuration side.

  9. allow public annotations by instructor to rollover

instructors use the "class discussion" tab to highlight and annotate certain important sections of a text, however when they reading list is rolled over to another term or course, all the annotations are lost. The instructor does not want to add them in every year.

  10. Allow the Unpaywall link label to be modified (parity with primo ?)

With respect to the options of using Unpaywall integrations/collections in Leganto, we would like more control of the links which appear - specifically the label.

For some citations in Leganto the display of the services in links and availability differs from Alma - e.g.
search for article "Maher, Patrick, A review of 'traditional' Aboriginal health beliefs" add to list.
Direct linking settings and libkey integration mean the brief view shows a "View Online" and "Download PDF" service.

If we hide those for clarity, and following the View online to see all [active] services in links and availability, the unusual "Online…

  11. Allow individual course rollover within Alma

At the moment there are two methods for course rollover:

Bulk course rollover via the integration profile and FTP
    Instructor rollover within Leganto

We have not enabled instructor rollover, as we only want library staff to perform rollover tasks. As a result, we rely solely on the bulk rollover method, which becomes laborious when we only need to process individual courses. Being able to rollover individual courses within Alma would offer the option of only allowing Library staff to rollover individual courses.

  12. Preserve Scroll Position After Bulk Actions

When performing bulk actions on the citations list (e.g., selecting multiple citations and updating their status via the Citation Status menu), the page currently refreshes and automatically scrolls back to the top of the list. This forces users to manually find their previous position, which slows down workflows, especially when reviewing long lists.

    Proposed Improvement:-

Implement a method to preserve the user’s scroll position after bulk actions. Possible approaches include

-Maintaining scroll position after the list refreshes.
-Updating only the modified items instead of reloading the full page.

    User Impact:-

    -Reduces repetitive scrolling.
-Less disruptive when reviewing large reading lists

  13. Allow bulk ReadingList creation with the AI Syllabus Assistant

It's exciting to learn about the newly launched AI Syllabus Assistant, which can automatically generate reading lists and show items' statuses. Since there's a need for Library to generate many reading lists at once, is it possible to use this AI feature to bulk-create reading lists for multiple courses by uploading a folder containing course synopsis documents? Or API could be offered to connect data from external sources?

  14. Citation thumbnail images - upload by Library staff (separate to instructor file upload)

Currently it is only possible to upload a citation thumbnail image in the Leganto interface (Librarian view) when the instructor file upload parameter is set to allow instructors to upload, i.e. maxfilesizeallowedfaculty_MB is not zero.
It would be useful for Library staff to always be able to upload/edit the citation thumbnail image, and for this to be separate from any instructor-only configuration.

It would be particularly beneficial as part of enabling Library Staff to check and manage lists, in their own view in the Leganto interface.

  15. Allow institutions to configure which citation statuses should be considered as equivalent to Complete

In Leganto it is possible to create custom citation statuses.

One such custom status we have created is 'Complete - no eBook available'. We use this status to indicate to teaching staff that a citation has been processed by the library but that it has not been possible to purchase it electronically. To all intents and purposes this status is equivalent to Complete, but provides additional information.

We would like to be able to configure Leganto to define which statuses should be considered as Complete. This would be useful, for example, when filtering citations in Alma, where there are options…

  16. The possibility of adding and removing tags in bulk from a citation result search

    In Alma> citation search:
Sometimes you have several citations that need to have added or removed the same tag. Now, you need to open every single citation or run a job.
It would be a nice workflow if there was an action to tick-off and add a tag in bulk from the search result display just like we’re able to remove alerts in bulk.

  17. Academic department and School/faculty a facet for Reading lists and citation search

Make School/faculty a facet on Course, Reading list and Citation search results
Make Academic department a facet on citation search results

Since the possibility of saving queries was made available for search results for courses, reading lists and citation trimming with facets for sets and jobs are relevant for mass updates

  19. Make it possible for students to view archived lists in leganto.

A course may have ended but students often need to refer to old lists and the literature shared in the coming semesters.

That means that students often accumulate a lot of lists during the years enrolled, making the lists-list long in leganto – and us having a lot of active lists for ended courses in Alma.

It would be great if students could access archived lists from somewhere in their list tab in leganto. If archived lists weren’t just available for instructors then we could use the archive function to keep a better focus for both instructors and students in…

  20. Allow institutions to configure the maximum number of citations on a list after which sections will be collapsed by default

It would be useful if we could configure the number of citations on a reading list over which the sections will be collapsed by default. The system setting is that any list over 100 items will be collapsed as default view, and we have the setsectionview parameter set to 'Yes' to allow default view to be manually overridden on a list by list basis, but we'd like there to be something in between that kicks in automatically, so shorter lists will still be expanded (which saves staff/students having to make extra clicks to view the full list) but…
