Automatic purchase request needs to be triggered automatic with a scheduled job
Currently the Automatic Purchase request process in Alma. Is not Automatic. Staff have to go into a citation and re-save it for the automatic process to be triggered. Or we have to run the Process and Enrich Citations job to trigger the automatic purchase request.
It would be better if this process was ran as a scheduled job like the active courses process. Rather than staff accidently triggering a purchase request by just re-saving a citation that they are working on.
It would be also good that automatic purchase requests do not have to be assigned a staff member to work. As these are automatic requests rather than by a specific user.

If this works as Andrew has described, it definitely needs to be streamlined. If I had any votes available, I would add one.
Here is a video about the purchase request workflow, but it says nothing about processing staff having to edit the citation to trigger a request: https://www.youtube.com/embed/zRyguZ18kfI

Closing as part of a cleanup process to remove older ideas with low votes.

I had no idea that the "automatic" purchase request process wasn't automatic ... seems a bit silly to call it automatic if that's the case! We have wanted to implement citation processing rules but found them far too broad to work for us. Hence our requests via CERV for more granularity. But if in future that side of it improved, we would want to implement them. However, this would ideally be fixed first as well.
