Reading List Status Changes based on Citations Statuses and Assignees
It would be great if the manual process of Changing a Reading List Status could be automated by Alma dependant on factors like Assignee being set to someone, rather than being for the Reading List. This could trigger the List Status to change from Waiting for Processing to Being Processed.
Another Reading List Status automation we would suggest is that when every Citation in a Reading List is marked Citation Status Complete, this could trigger the Reading List Status to be updated Complete.
Both of these Reading List Status changes are things that need to be performed manually at present and increase processing time for the completion of the Reading List Workflow. Even if the option to have automations like this was added as an opt-in function in Alma configuration, those Institutions which see the value of something like this could choose to make use of it.

The October 2018 release made a change to how list status is affected (or not) by the presence of complete citations on a list which was published by an Instructor. Previously, the publication of a list (whether it had completed citations or not) caused the list status to change to "Ready for Processing". After the change, it is possible for RLs to remain as "Being Prepared" even when an instructor has published the list. This is a step backwards in controlling the process workflow of reading lists which have not yet been looked at. It is significant to know who set a list to completed (Librarian vs instructor).

These are good suggestions.
Until Dec 17 there was an oddity whereby citations could all auto-complete on a list and the send to library option was not available. This seems to have been resolved. Agree that assignment changing list status to something different also makes sense - though we would also like to be abl to change list status without having to assign at all (from Reading list task list - see separate idea). The only one I wondered about was the all citation complete = list complete - would this be regardless as to whether published/sent to the library? and what would you see as the list status needed for new additions to a published list? i.e. the completed_list_new_citation_status - what would you choose here? I suppose it's 'if all complete then send, but set as complete'?
We still like to see lists as a final pass, even if the citations are all repository/PCI and set to auto-complete via the Course Management Workflow settings, so agree configurable is good!
